Thank you, I was really wondering how the built in Anti Alias filter affected still images. On your website, where would I see A7S images? I honestly can't imagine getting a 4k capable camera... and not wanting to give it a try

I do plan on renting one first, maybe with an EF adapter to see how it fairs with my EF lenses for starters. The video I linked above was really over the top at letting me see what Canon lacks, and Sony is giving for so much less.
Thanks for the input!
Almost every image up to the one below (it being the first from the a7S on my flickr page) on my flickr page are from the a7S, the EXIF should still be intact for all the images on my flickr.

FYI, it can only do 4k via an external recorder, it won't do it in camera. From what I understand it still takes excellent (better than Canon) 1080p video as well though. Funny enough, I got into photography via video... I was a big film guy in high school and helped friends with various college films, I actually bought my first DSLR (not counting my 20D which was a gift) with the intention of making films with it and doing photos as an added bonus... I only made one film with that camera (T2i) and found a new passion with photography

I do intend on getting back into video though, unfortunately I lack the spontaneous nature for video creativity, I prefer to plan out a story and get actors, which is harder to do now that my acting friends have moved on to other things or other places

In the end though, I do realize it's ultimately just me being lazy, I really should think of a quick film idea

As for the camera, I think renting with the EF adapter is a solid idea. Bare in mind too that if you do decide to buy one you don't have to fork over $400 for the metabones adapter (unless you really feel compelled to for some reason), there are numerous adapters for far less which work just as well, though all of them (including the metabones) will need to be flocked. Flocking is really easy to do though and also really cheap, so don't fear that part
