This bird has eluded me for a few years. I never seem to get up to the mountain when they're "easy" to get. This year was no exception. I was a few weeks late but I did manage a few shots.
Not the best quality but since they're my first ever sightings and shots I'll post them up.

Thank you everyone.
I feel my skills have been off since I have been taking pictures less. I guess I need to practice up.

Looks good to me, Jeremy. That is one "exotic" bird-that head does not go w/that body. Looks like a Chickadee that slipped while drinking cherry Kool-aid;-)a. But congrats on the find and the pics.

You've done it, Monsieur! Well done. I thought, however, you had photographed one a couple years ago.

Thanks everyone.

Al, I haven't gotten one before. Glenn Bartley did.
His pics are better too. Lol

These are with a flash. I'm trying out different settings. Probably a bad idea with a bird I've never seen. Shooting under the tree canopy is odd for me. Living in the low desert with few trees it is odd to shoot under large trees as I had to for these.
By the time I found them the sun was high and harsh. I did my best.
