Well possibly good news after the horror stories in another ongoing thread here.

I bought a 70D today, having had issues with the model in the recent past.

I am thrilled to say, all the issues with my first copy have gone.

I have tested the new body with an 85 1.2 wide open, a 70-200 2.8 v2 wide open and a 100 2.8 L macro wide open.
There are no focus errors at any distances (asides the ones that are my fault) and the image clarity is superb.

I don't know if there has been a manufacturing/process change but this copy is flawless.

Probably just my local camera store.
I did try a few of these in Feb this year with no luck.

I'm hoping canon have sorted a production issue.

Good to hear that - I've got a 70D with focus issues. Been back to Canon three times so far with no luck. Is your firmware still 1.1.1 ?

My guess is that it is a hardware problem, reason why Canon hasnt issued a firmware release.

Yes, mine is back at Canon (or will be soon) for the 4th time - I've put to them I'll buy a 5d Mk111 if they'll take the 70D off my hands as a trade in. In all conscience I couldn't sell it knowing the problems.
