...i attended my first airventure, arrived early(7am), parked in the blue zone which is $10 and it's only a 2-5 minutes walk to the entrance. I was able to purchase my ticket in under a minute, not many people there when I arrived. I walked directly towards the "flight line" and reserved my spot. I posted under the "jumbo tron" near the press box but I recommend a spot somewhere far to the left of it(facing the runway) most of the AC being used for the airshow are parked on taxiway PAPA which could block your view from flybys by the performing ACs.

difficult to handhold and use a slow shutter speed to capture prop blur, I tried and these were some of results from the show!

Haven't heard the outcome but an early morning crash here today. Fireball and smoke. Hoping for a bit of a miracle but those usually don't end well.

Looks like it was a single engine Piper Meridian went down trying to land. 5 people on board. Several were able to get out of the plane. 2 taken by ambulance. 1was airlifted. The airport is still shut down.

Good info, thanks.
Solid set of photos you have.

You will also have a clearer photo opportunity south of the Boeing Plaza.
They tend to not line up planes along there like they do to the north and the crowds are a lot lighter.

This year, I shot roughly near where the Hanger Cafe (just south of the Vintage Hanger) is right along the flight line and managed some good stuff.
You'll be closer to the turns, takeoffs, and landings than you will typically be if you are "center stage".
