Excellent capture and great 3D pop of the foreground in this shot Eddie.

Gene - On a side note do you have the FE 16-35 and the Batis 25? Could you take a photo of them side by side?

Nice to see Sony bring some affordable stuff to market after the sticker shock of the GM lenses.

Makes me wonder if a budget friendly FF camera might be on the way soon (a6?)

$250 for a 50mm f/1.8 is great. I wish they had announced a cheaper 85mm though or a 35 f/2!. A cheaper than GM/Batis 85 1.8 in the same vain as the FE28 would suit me nicely and I would probably get rid of the Sigma (assuming it would be much smaller)

$250 nifty fifty sounds good. $1,200 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 doesn't. Canon has their 70-300 f/4-5.6 for $450 and Nikon has theirs fpr around the same.

Given that the Sony 70-300 is a G lens, I suspect it's supposed to compete with Canons L version which is $1249.

I wish A7rii would offer S-RAW and M-RAW kind of options. I find it a little odd that you can choose between compressed and uncompressed raw, but the difference between the two is effectively small, unless you're into pixel peeping (or big big prints). I move around a lot and therefore do all of my PP work on a laptop. And the laptop HW space being limited still these days, the A7rii raw file size is sometimes an overkill. I know the silent shutter mode delivers smaller files. But it also takes away from the dynamic range. Sometimes I wish I had the same DR available but with fewer megapixels.

Heres a Pano taken at the same location of the shot previous. 3 shots at 16mm. In hindsight I should have shot in portrait mode as the resulting image has odd dimensions

Used my 70-200 II the other day to grab some candids of my son. Let me know if WB is off. I always struggle with skin tones.

Just in case my request got lost in the image posts can anyone that owns the FE 16-35 and Batis 25 and Loxia 21 or any two of those lenses post a side by side photo so that I can see how they compare for size. I know their dimensions but its easier to see in an image

If you have the right lens, shoot it in Crop mode = 18Mpix

friends don't let friends shoot in mRaw or sRaw - Canon's implementation truly butchers shadow recovery ability and turns them horrible colours

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.
