Honestly the main thing I'm struggling with now is if I want to get the X-Pro2 and if I did that and loved it, I don't know that I'd keep any of my Sony gear I don't see myself switching until there's a decent sized price drop though even if I do decide to go that route. And that'll be one of the few times where I'll be renting first to try it out first hand. The X-Pro2 is a lovely camera and has an amazing established lens line up to go with it, but I must resist as it goes against my whole simplifying my camera gear approach! Is that the highest magnification? It was a bit windy when I was shooting so the leaves moved. Still, the stone wall should be sharper. I'll keep testing. I have better luck nailing focus with landscapes without focus magnification and simply focus peaking at normal magnification. The reason being is that I can't see where the focal plane is when its magnified, so its harder mentally to nail the focus. focalpointsphoto.com

I tried that technique on a stone wall at our house using a tripod. I was able to dial in focus better but the images were still soft to me when zoomed in. I've looked at full res samples online and those are sharp even at f2.8. I ordered a new copy from B&H. Retuning my copy. - Alfredo -

Haha, I know what you mean! The lenses are one of the biggest reasons I'm so tempted to switch too... jocau wrote in post #17956719 Why do you want to switch? What does Fujifilm have for you that Sony doesn't? The experience mostly. I can definitely appreciate that working professionals need the utmost image quality as their primary concern, but for those of us who mostly do this as a hobby I think the whole point is to enjoy it. If you don't think the VF of the X-Pro2 looks fun to use I think you'd be kidding yourself. They're also smaller and lighter with more engaging ergonomics. So the images might not be quite a7Rii level, but for most users I'm confident in saying that they're close enough while being simply more enjoyable to shoot with... Heck, even my X-E2 with it's standard EVF is more enjoyable for me to shoot with than my a7S. Fuji X-T3 // Fuji X-Pro2 (Full Spectrum) // Fuji X-H1 // Fuji X-T1

Not sure how the xpro2 handles it, but telephotos don't work well. The lens blocks the view, so I suspect you need to use full EVF at that point. The added size has diminished the fun-factor of the original a7 bodies. This is ultimately what drew me to the RX1, but the fuji x100 was on my short list too. focalpointsphoto.com

navydoc Cream of the Crop More info Post edited over 7 years ago by navydoc. (2 edits in all) | Apr 01, 2016 09:48 | #15600 Here's an interesting video on how to clean the sensor on a Sony a7rII. What I took away from it most importantly is how to prevent the sensor from moving while cleaning it due to the IBIS. In a nutshell, near the end of the video, he shows that when built in sensor cleaning is used (Toolbox icon, 3rd tab), the sensor will be off, locked and not moveable until the power is turned off and then back on. That would be the time to clean the sensor manually using his method or whatever method you prefer. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||
