Yeah I used to do that when I worked at a smaller company and could simply walk up to the mail-room guys and get my stuff.

But now I work for at the main office of a large company and with that comes bureaucracy that can make something as simple as claiming a package a PITA. Last time I shipped something here it got lost in the shuffle for two days, so I stopped doing that lol.

i'm an engineer, and mailroom is 10 feet from where I work , just gotta walk across the hallway.

Frustrating night for me. Couldnt get the smooth reflections app installed before I headed out for sunset, then got to the location below and as I was standing waiting on the light to get better 3 cars full of neds (scottish word for hoodlums, chavs etc) arrived and parked up right beside me and got out and started messing about. I felt a bit uneasy so ended up packing up and heading off in the car. About 5 mins later the light was amazing pouring over the hills, a really intense orange glow and pink clouds. I was driving unfortunately.

This was the best I got prior to that. This location has potential I think so will revisit. The smooth reflection app would have been handy (or me remembering to buy the correct size step up ring)

Thanks David, weird purple thing going on beside the contrail too. Will need to check if that was due to editing.

On another note I tried two different things with this lens. I tried my normal focussing method of focussing at hyperfocal (easy with the OLED display) and then I took the same shot focussed at infinity. When reviewing the images zoomed on the cameras LCD the infinity shot was noticably sharper even in the foreground. Cant really work this out. I thought it would be weaker at close distances than the hyperfocal version? Is this why on FM forum they always test lenses focused at infinity? Have I been missing a trick for years?

is there a way to enable the OLED screen with AF-S or AF-C?

One more thing on the Skin-So-Soft.
We mix it 50/50 with 100% Deet solution.
Can't recommend it for anyone with cuts/abrasions but
I've been in some places where the bugs literally can kill
and in some places (Milford Sound) where they can drive you
mad (Sand Fleas).
Crossing Vermont on the Appalachian Trail (Black Flies, Mosquitoes, Gnats, Green Flies, Horse Flies No-See-Ums)
I used another approach. I used the Sawyer solution, you spray in on your gear/clothes/backpack/​rain fly/etc. Let
it dry, repeat 3 times.. It creats a no-fly zone for all insects=amazing stuff.

I saw other backpackers with headnets and they wondered why the bugs stopped 6-8 inches from my face...well my
shirt/backpack/and cap had the Sawyer treatment. It is outstanding.
The 50/50 mix listed above I'd put on my socks and/or gaiters and only when abs. necessary on the skin. Since using
the Sawyer spray I haven't needed the 50/50.

David, I love bridge shots and your last one is spectacular with the sunset in the background. Well done!

Eddie, your landscape shot with the new lens looks awesome. One tip if you don't have ND filters or the app is just take 20 or more shots and then average them out in Photoshop. That will smooth out the water. Sky looks great.

As with everything else in life I chose not to read the manual so not entirely sure . You cant in default mode

Yes, Travis, I am all too frequently guilty of being pessimistic. I was just feeling unproductive on a day-by-day basis expecting more from myself, but afterwards was relieved to see a few goodies had been collected. Even at the time I had been optimistic about the Ravenel Bridge shot. The PhotoPills app was invaluable for positioning my camera so the sunset would backlight the bridge. The bugs nearly ate me alive while waiting for the sun to drop below the horizon.

I felt exactly the same on a few trips. I felt uncreative and not like i had shot something special but when i go through lightroom i often find shots from these trips i initially thought were unproductive and end up editing them. Some even turned out to be stunners which makes me really think that i really should take care when editing pictures of a trip so that i dont miss something i dismissed too fast at first.

Like this. I gave up on color correcting and dismissed this shot. Just gave it a rework and liking it quite good.. Wish it was shot with A7RII because theoriginal i used for this doesnt handle noise quite as well...

Just pre ordered the FE 50mm 1.8, May 4th can't come quick enough!!

Also side note Adorama's customer servce was so off putting when I was trying to order the lens. Never met such a rude agent before, ended up buying it from B&H.

my sigma (canon EF) to Sony MC-11 adapter shipped!!!

^ Good news! I was wondering if the Sigma adapter would be a better match with the Canon tilt shift lens than metabones.
