David, I had the same issue. I ultimately gave up and used my camera to login to the App Store and download the app. That worked fine. Only issue is entering your login credentials using the virtual keypad. Tedious. I use the Smooth Reflections app and the Touchless app (forgot the name but it's free).

As I mentioned in previous post I had also been trying it in-camera as well. Same thing. I hit the confirm and purchase button and it just reloads the same payment screen all over again. I even switched my payment method from credit card to PP and that didn't work either.

I haven't tried the pre-paid wallet thing because I'm afraid that won't work as well and then I'd just be tossing $5 in a hole where I can't even use it. Still, it's only $5 so I may give it a try.

But good grief: Sony is completely incompetent regarding the app store. I search online and find all sorts of frustrated people like me complaining about it over the last few years, yet they haven't done anything to make it work better.

To clarify, your 35 art has the latest firmware and with the mc11 adaptor you are not getting phase detect and its really slow?? That's very disappointing

Well that sucks, there was me thinking I would soon be using my 35 art fully native. Guess im waiting for the batis 35 then

maybe its a firmware issue... who knows...

Ah I missed that part David. Sorry. It really is disappointing to see all issues with the Sony App Store. It needs to be addressed.

Are you finding it useable without any ND filters at all? That's good. I noted others thought you needed at least a 3 stop. I might try and install the app again

Eddie, yes very useable. The resulting RAW file is so clean. Can easily pull shadows without issues. Not much headroom in the highlights so just expose to the left when metering. I would try out that app.

Note: I don't think I can get 6-8 minute exposures during the day to simulate a 16 stop ND filter since my base expsosures is usually 1/125 or 1/200sec at f11 and ISO 100. I suppose I could if I used a 6 stop ND filter.

Now I'm trying to "add funds to my wallet" and it's claiming my credit card information is incorrect - and I tried different cards. Thing is just flat out broken.
I admit I am so annoyed by this that it's tempting to just sell and get the heck away from this incompetent company. They don't want my money? Well, maybe I don't want their stuff.

On friday when I have more time im going to have another attempt at getting the app installed. I read on FM that its best to use zebras +100 and adjust the exposure until the blinkies diasapear and that way you preserve the highlights when using the app and maximize the shadows

I'm reading above about the smooth reflection app and using silent shutter. Does the A7mkii have silent shutter option? I've been looking for it and can't find it?
