Haha...You just thought of a product we need: A shell that makes our cameras look so goofy and bad that no one would want them. This thing needs a bold phony brand name like the "Samtek 1000" and some really bad specs like "6 MP!" printed on it. Even a "As Seen on TV!" sticker would convey a sense of total crapness.

Getting excited about Iceland? When do you leave and how long will you stay?

Oh god. looks like the camera got herpes.

BUT might be useful for things like events or traveling with the camera or anytime its hard to baby the camera since the paint on these magnesium alloy bodies is so prone to scuffing. Not that I care how the camera looks, but realistically if you think you'll sell the camera one day, those scuffs decrease the selling price by quite a bit ($100+)

I actually had a smooth black silicone skin on my 5D2 for a while and quite liked it. Eventually stopped using it as the silicone was a dust magnet. Wasn't the prettiest mind you

From last night. I spent the afternoon and much of the early night at a sports complex in Orlando while waiting for my grandgirl Shannon to run her relay 4X4 mile. Rain and lightning caused long delays so the final race ran at about 10:30 p.m. and I still had to drive home. I'm beat. Lots of walking as the parking was far, far from the stadium.
Anyhow I had my Mecablitz flash in a vest pocket and it took a dive somewhere along the way. Gone I guess, for good. I carried a 7s with 50mm f1.1 Nokton thinking I might need it if the races went long. The other camera was the a7RII and LA-EA3 adapter with 70-400 G SSM II lens.

Like with any sports event I had some winners. By the time the granddaughter ran it was dark and wet and I was missing the flash. ISO was high and I converted the shots to black and white for the sake of clarity--night stuff just seems better to me in monochrome.
Second shot is no winner for sharpness, those little green boxes in phase detection sometimes focused behind instead of on what I was shooting.

Based on fred miranda forum conversations I'm keeping my v3 version it appears the e mount has some copy variations with corner issues

Probably my best baton pass in the night.

it's actually not a bad thing. good for protection and grip.

I'm working in a town in the north country. The main liard river hasn't broken free yet from ice. Hope to be here when she breaks free. Shot with sony a7 and a rokinon fisheye.

Jannik Peters has posted on FM forums Batis 18 thread that his lens is decentered (the guy that also reviews on Philip Reeves site). Hope its just a one off and I dont have to play the lottery with QC issues

FAO David A, Travis, David F and other fans of TSE lenses, I started a thread on FM forums when I was having issues with my TSE 24 II on the A7RII and recent posts on that thread have shown that shimming can solve the issues. It looks like the problem is caused when adaptors are out of tolerance and the flange distance isnt bang on. Some people found they couldnt focus at infinity with the lens and I had issues with the pixelation effect happening. I believe now this is due to variances in the adaptors. The fix as you will see in the link below is to take the mount off the metabones and shim it up with aluminium foil. Trial and error is required until you get it right.

Im now wondering if that is how I have better images from when I used it on the Sony with the Viltrox adaptor I sold, as the issues were noticed after I switched to metabones. Perhaps my metabones isnt set as well as the Viltrox was.

For the time being Im going to carry on without the TSE lens and see how I go. I may give it one last try in the future though.

An FE mount TSE lens would be heaven but its probably very unlikely and even if they did make one it would likely be $5000 or something nuts like that
