Vin you live where it is warm I think.
I found myself using the Rii in the cold a lot this winter, maybe this hideously ugly cover will hold a bit more
heat in. On one night I even put the stick on chemical heat warmers on the bottom of the battery grip.
Plus as David A mentioned it does 'cheapen' the appearance a lot :)
.....and I've already got some paint dings.
We'll see how it feels.

a6300 is quicker that a7Rii with 70-400gii and a-mount Tam 150-600. As you know
the a6300 is over the top with the 70-200g and like you the only reason is the extra 100
for the FE 70-300. You saw my bird experiments last week or two with the a6300-the 70-200
was amazing in Zone/AF-C and the cropping power of the a63000 outstanding for an APS-C sensor,
really only issue for birders is the lack of 400mm.
Not related but in a way meaning something, there is an eagle nest hear locally. Only vantage point
puts me 1/4 mile from the tree, but with the Leica 100-400 on my Lumix I can see the eagle and the
shot really isn't that bad considering 800mm effective reach-I mean OK for identification purposes
but nothing I'd Flickr. Now why can't Sony do it if Panasonic and Olympus are? Just freaking gripes me to now end.

MedicineMan, it sounds like it's going to be a great trip, even if there won't be any lions there. :-) Looking forward to seeing images from there.

On another note,..

Brewed by the Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown Pennsylvania, this pilsner beer is rated as outstanding.

And guess what? I like it! ♥

Man if I lived closer I'd help the clean-up despite my aversion to loafs of bread in a bottle :)

Played with SR today...set it up inside to see how it works and did a 256 exposure. Kids were running around the frame but were all blured completely out of the final shot.

But the best past is what Charlie mentioned ....there is zero noise in the file...even if push the exposure 3+ stops and/or start doing things like move the clarity slider to 100 or lifting the shadows all the way up. I suspect that you get more DR using smooth reflections, but more importantly, even more latitude to manipulate the files in post. Seriously, you can push the files till they look ridiculous and have no noise in them at all.I know that even with the a7rII sensor at base ISO I can get some noise once I start doing things to pull details out of the sky and what-not.

Yep. The shutter fires 256 times but only the final merged image is written to the SD card. If Sony updates the app to support electronic shutter then concerns about shutter wear are no longer valid.

new Batis 18 review from DigitalRev. Not a great review but it was nice to see the lens on the camera.

************ATTENTION***************
The SR app has been updated. I deleted the app last night and re-installed. E-shutter is now supported :)
So the 256 that would have applied to the 500,000 shutter life is now down to one!!!
Smooth reflections has so many applications. The new e-shutter also applies to Sky-HDR. Woohoo Sony
for listening and to the logical thing.

Argh I remember why I dont like Adorama.... order a tripod head and well lets wait 3 days for the in stock item to yet ship... with the "Fast 3 day shipping"

Grrr

I was concerned to see this; if it is noted as 'in stock' on the product page - rather than 'drop ship', then provided we are not in the midst of a Jewish Holiday, eg Passover or Sukkot, most orders placed by 8:00 PM ET should ship the same day.
Can you please email me: Helen@adorama.com with your order number, so I can check this out.

I had some really really bad experience with Adorama in past.....

Deeply concerned to see this; can you please email me at your earliest convenience: Helen@adorama.com, with additional details - so I can understand what went wrong.
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Reading your post reminded me to try once again to add $5 to my "wallet" to buy the app with. And, amazingly it finally worked! Now, at last I have the app. :)

There is a transaction history on my Sony account page and it documents 20 failed previous attempts to add the money to the wallet (and that doesn't include any of the direct purchase attempts from within the camera itself). So, this does go down as the most painful transaction (requiring the most work) in my whole lifetime. So ridiculous. But, at last I can move on and I'm looking forward to trying out the app.
