Here's an interesting hapstance. While I used my Sony a7RII and 70-400mm G SSM II for most of the track shots last Saturday, I brought along the a7S with a Voigtlander 50mm f1.1 Nokton for grab shots.
When you consider the relative megapixel sizes, the a7S did pretty well. I edited both versions for exposure and shadows. The crop, however is unsharpened, just so you can see the basic result of good light with low ISO.

Dang, looks like a great performing lens although it's hard to see how sharp it is in the samples provided. I think I could make the 18 work with my 21 but maybe the field of view will be too close. Decisions.

Here is the Flickr album for those Batis 18 images. If you click on the down arrow in the lower right beneath the image and choose "View all sizes", you can open the original file size such as "Original (7952 x 4473)".

This is awesome Travis. I try to squeeze some shooting before work...or after work...or on my lunch break too. The set of street art photos I posted were from my lunch break.

thanks...I don't get much time during normal work days...but site days I can usually squeeze in time very early...

Another from last week...being able to extract so much more data out of each image is still mind blowing to me...I also have to remember to ignore the jpeg preview on the LCD...

18 is quite a bit wider than 21. Very tempting, but will wait for something even wider. (loxia 15?)

Not owning the loxia 21 is making my decision easier. Im aiming for batis 18, batis 25, zeiss 55 and batis 85 and sell the 16-35

Thanks Gene, those blues and pinks were before the sun came up...they were better than the color once the sun broke the horizon.

I see. Good to know. Loxia 15 would be sweet. I considered the voightlander 15 but will wait.

That's a strong lineup Eddie. Just need a 35.

Got a 35 art but doesn't quite fit in with the rest as its massive in comparison with the adaptor etc. I had been holding out hope for the sigma adaptor but it seems its a bit of a let down. I would also have to buy the dock to update the firmware (once sigma do) to get native functionality. Watched a video on youtube earlier of an a7rii and a 50art with sigma adaptor and it was poor. Really slow af and afc wasn't available.

I really love the 35 art though so will hold on to it in the mean time and use with metabones until the batis 35 or FE 35 f/2 comes out. Might have to play the long game with the 35 (or just get the FE35 and live with f/2.8)
