My neighbor's neighbor's cactus flowers bloomed today.

I have been a resolution hog, but 36-50 MP is all I ever wanted from a FF sensor, so a big "not interested" to 72 MP.
a7R II is about as perfect a camera I can imagine; only things I don't love are the lack of gps and not-great build quality (my eyepiece fell apart and needed replacing, and memory door is sticking some). Oh yeah, card speed too.

That's the way I feel about the camera too (high enough MP and almost perfect for my needs)

My only gripe is the slowness in writing to the card and the slight pause when chimping. Not enough of an isuse to have me looking elsewhere. First time in a long time I've felt settled with a body

It REALLY depends on what you're looking to do with the camera. I just picked an A7Rii the other day and I'll be returning it very shortly. I'm currently using it to shoot residential/commercial real-estate and with me shooting 5 bracket shots the files are just WAY too large (merged TIFF files are 300-500mb per file). That plus the 42MB per shot and 5-10 listings a week I'm looking at 60GB a day in data. Sometimes it's simply not worth it.

Now if you NEED something with insanely high resolution and 4k capabilities then maybe the A7Rii is for you but for me, my A7ii does just fine.

the A7II for that kind of RE work was exactly what I was thinking...something a little smaller on files, but still having the DR and focus accuracy...

Too bad you had to buy it to figure that out. I've never really understood why high volume shooters would even look at something above 24 MP. Heck, for RE isn't 12MP plenty?

Fred miranda has a copy of the voigtlander 15 FE mount that is as good as "choppy" (guy mancuso's great copy of the m mount version that he chopped the petals off). There's hope yet that there are good copies to be had. The number of duds makes it a lottery though

The fe version has less fringing too by these shots (extreme corner crops)

I'm sure you could get away with it. The only reason why I picked up the A7Rii was because I started to have some issues with my A7ii and had a few shoots the next day. IF I couldn't figure it out I didn't want to resort back to my Canon.... god forbid  So I took a ride over to bestbuy and it was too tempting to turn down.

Thankfully, BB has a pretty solid return policy.

This is the blossom of an Easter Lily Cactus or Echinopsis. They come in a variety of different sizes and colors. They bloom usually at night and early morning but the blooms only last a few hours.

I can't imagine needing an A9, but if it had a built-in a-mount converter I would probably at least look at it.

As soon as the a7rii goes sub-$1800 it will be my next upgrade. Not that I really need it, still love my a7r/a6000 duo.
