Gorgeous. Planning a Maui trip in November. I'm stoked!

More Yosemite shots coming up.. And yes. There will be B&W.

The Filter Dude will be my destination for the replacement foundation kit. Thanks for reminding me of that, David.

Thanks Dean. I'll see about converting my image in B&W.

You'll love it there!

Got some new goodies today.

First thing is the Mindshift Gear Filter Hive. This thing is awesome! Fits all my filters (3 100x400mm GNDs, 2 100mm square NDs, 1 77mm round ND, and 4 CPLs) in a nice color coded pouch. Finally am able to dispose of individual containers.

Actually there is one filter that also came today that doesn't fit inside the Filter Hive, it's my new Haida 105mm CPL for my Lee filter system. I also got in a 6-stop and 10-stop 100mm square Haida filters. Special thanks to Charlie for frequently recommending Haida. With the SR app I don't anticipate using the 10-stop with the a7R II, but it is needed for the 5DSR.

I have a Lowepro filter holder that velcros around my belt when out shooting, it works a lot better than sticking everything in my pockets...I have been eyeing the Mindshift bags, especially as I start to go with less gear on trips.

David Arbogast wrote in post #18005039 (external link)
Bag also comes in a nice charcoal gray as well.

BTW I ordered my pocket pod with their BH 25 ballhead instead of the new little BC-18 in the video. The pocket pod itself is crazy strong; has like a 100 lbs. weight capacity. The ballhead is the weak link with an 8 lbs. capacity. Plenty for me.

I got the little pocket pod because of him too...about 2 years ago and I have used it so little...it is very sturdy, I just don't use it much if at all...maybe I should get it out more.

Another from last weekend, Sparks Lane at sunset...no fighting off other photographers that want to setup directly in front of you.... The light was so warm and golden. This image would not have been possible in one frame with the 5D2...it is nice to spend less time editing.

Very nice stuff David!

I have been searching for a bag to replace my too-big LowePro. This seems like it might be the right size for me. Will have to check it out.
I also need to order a replacement for my Lee foundation kit. I stupidly sold it thinking I wanted to go with all screw-on filters. After the Yosemite trip, I came to the conclusion that it was too much work to screw/unscrew my NDs from one lens to another (often having to also add a step-up ring, since half my lenses are 67mm and the other half are 77mm).

The good news is that I had not sold my Haida ND square filters. So I'll go right back to using those.
Love Haida.

And a couple more shots from the tunnel view before I move on to something different:

The first is taken with the Sigma 35/1.4. What a great sharp lens for landscapes!
The 2nd is taken with the M-mount CV 15 III.

Dean, the Yosemite tunnel shots look great. With those clouds, I would try maybe a black and white conversion.

First contribution from my Maui trip. If you guys ever get the chance to go, please go! The scenes are breathtaking and diverse. You have the gorgeous beaches, incredible coastlines, rain forests, mountains, and more. We had about 3 days of bad weather with strong rain but that didn't stop us from getting out there with my wife and 3 year old to enjoy the island.

Northern coastline as the sun was trying to break free through the clouds.

Beautiful scene. One thing about Hawaii, it rains there everyday somewhere. But in the two years I was there, I don't think the daytime temp ever fell below 70.

Thank you Gene. You're right. I was expecting that much rain though.

Thanks Carlo. You'll have a fantastic time. It's a special place with lots to explore.

Wailua Falls on the road to Hana on a very rainy day. No opportunity to hike closer to the falls since we had our 3 year and of course the heavy rain fall. One thing that helped me out was my Peak Designs rain cover. Worked out well.

My first attempt at cooking brisket. I had put it on the rack shortly before I took this shot. Hopefully, time, temps and smoke will work in my favor but only time will tell in the end.

Hopefully, I"ll be able to upload an after shot that is mouth watering. I know that to you Texas boys, this brisket is tiny but for a city slicker like me doing his first one, the size is just about right. :-);-)a

Lol you have a critic over here for sure :-) We know our brisket. But if it turns out like the rest of the stuff you're posted, I'm sure it will be a legitimate brisket. How long are you smoking it for?

Advice gratefully accepted here when it comes to brisket. I figure after about 4 or 5 hours to wrap in aluminum foil ("the crutch") and take it from there. I'm looking for an internal temp of 203°.

After about 3 hours of cooking time, the grill temp is holding pretty steady between 225° and 250°.
