I was playing outside with my newest gear acquisition, and felt a burning sensation on my hand, turns out I'm not suppose to put it in the sun, or it can act like a magnifying glass.

My latest photography toy.....

I bought one if these a while back too

I'm sure this has been analyzed and discussed to the end of it all. But can you guys tell me who Sony is incredible bad with white balance? I have the A7rii and RX100III. And I used to own A6000. They're all a bit different, but none of them come even close to Canon. And I know Canon has its challenges, especially with the red channel. But I keep wondering why my A7rii is absolutely horrible in daylight and incandescent, regardless whether that's AWB or the respective default presets.

I use the X-Rite Digital ColorChecker Passport, Exposure & White Balance System. Have not had any problems with white balance. Occasionally I have used CowboyStudio 24” triangular reflector with good results.

So I just discovered on a whim that the A7Rii will autofocus quite nicely with the EF 100-400 (mk1) via Metabones.
I don't know why I was under the impression that it didn't work. So now I have up to 400mm (plus cropping ability) and I can definitely put my 6D up for sale.

Headed down to the beach to test out the AF-S and AF-C with the 100-400. I must say it did well enough for my uses. Might not be the combo to use for sports shooters, but I only do that sort of thing occasionally.

Wow those are great. I didn't think the Sony did continous focus on any lens but native. And maybe the sigma now with adapter

It doesn't do AF-Tracking, but it sure does AF-C. Works well too.

My cropping ability shoulda been even better, but I stupidly had the Sony set to shoot JPG and 18MP (medium) by mistake.

Nice work Nadim. Yeah AF-C is decent with adapted lenses. Not 1DX caliber, but definitely as good as something like the 6D.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.
