Canon FD 500MM autofocus, this is crazy

I was wondering if this were possible. Very interesting idea....a lot of FD glass holds its own against their modern equivalents. The FD 85L was right up there with the 85 1.2LII with exception to flare control.

that's cool, was wondering about that idea, didnt think there would be enough movement with the adapter, guess i was wrong.

the only thing about these older high end FD's is the price, sometimes they're kinda high, might as well get the EF version.

O wow, can't wait to see more reviews on it. This would bring new life to my FD lens collection.

Great shot Vin, but is it just me or does it look a little tilted?

In the town of Lahaina, you'll find these amazing Banyan trees in a courtyard. They are massive and their branches stretch across the plaza. Not ideal time to shoot but sometimes you have no choice.

I like the contrasty lighting here alfredo. It's nothing the exmor can't handle

Thanks Carlo. Yep. The trees were in deep shadow but thanks to the dynamic range of the sensor, I was able to recover all the detail.

When the sun is out in Maui, the sky turns a rich blue and the grass shines. The palm trees tower over the golf course like spectators. Ok enough of that silliness. Here is a pretty photo. :)

I miss Maui. My last trip there was before I got into photography.
I'm starting to think about planning a trip there in the fall. I can't wait to take all my toys with me this time. So much to photograph.
Did you make it up to Haleakala? The views up there were stunning. But then again, almost anywhere on the island is stunning.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

I'm actually developing a Milky Way shot from Haleakala now. I've been taking my time with it. I didn't quite like my initial edit on it so I'm redoing it. Stay tuned.

Yes I agree. It's just an amazing place to visit. And the summit views are spectacular.

None of that haziness you get in the metropolitan parts of Texas....particularly in the summer. I've noticed that the sky is MUCH bluer out in the rural areas around here even less than an hour from the city.

How's the Loxia working out for you Alfredo? I'm taking a trip to Disney with the family in a couple of weeks and debating whether or not I should bring that or borrow my friends 16-35.

Not direct comparisons, but some shots from my Batis vs GM 85mm throw-down. Don't read too much into the differences...lighting is different from shot to shot.

I've been posting more direct comparisons here
