Very nice. Looks like a yellow version of Paul Walkers R34 in FF2.

The R33 has always looked bloated to me. I like the sleeker look of the R32 and R34.

Apparently the next GT-R will be electric or a hybrid. I'm all for electric cars for a lot of reasons (especially since I work for an energy company), but I think the sun is setting on cars to truly get passionate about. EV's seem less and less like engineering marvels and more like electrical devices.

I do really like the R32 as well, just not a fan of the older interiors on the Skylines.

I agree with you on that one, but then, people said the same thing about digital cameras I think McLaren and BMW are going the right direction with their hybrid approach in the P1 and i8, I definitely want an authentic exhaust note when I'm driving, even if it's not the star of the show so to speak. The biggest disconnect I have with the newer advancements in tech though is I thoroughly enjoy driving a manual gearbox, it makes the experience so much more involving for me... I can't imagine ever really loving a car with any form of automatic transmission (paddle shifters don't cut it for me).

You would probably love this car, this thing was easily the nicest R32 I've ever seen

Alex, yep, that's the one. It's at the Orange Empire RR Museum in Perris and one of my favorite places to shoot. As a bonus, the steam locomotive will be running this weekend too!

Hm. I might make the trip out there. I was looking for something to shoot this weekend. Do you have a link I can check out about the event?

Guy on FM turned me onto this....but apparently you can map the focus hold button on the 85GM to whatever function you want. I mapped it to eye focus. If I recall, the FE 90 has a focus hold button as well.

Sorry if the photos of my daughter are getting old. In-laws got a "maria clara" dress for my daughter from the Philippines.

jeezus camping is awesome,its not a punishment haha,i took the kids camping in our 5th wheel for 12 days and they didn't want to go home and neither did i,theres a lot more to life than 4 walls haha whoohoo.

That's not camping, that's glamping

Funny you guys bring camping up. I've never been and I've been wanting to try it out more and more given the added photographic opportunities. For example, I would have had a lot more time in Yosemite had we been camping inside the park (rather than staying an hour away).
But neither I nor the wife know what we're doing, so the thought of it seems a bit intimidating.
Not to mention that we're both used to our comforts.

On an unrelated note, had to drag this out of the archives. Today is the anniversary of Mount St. Helens errupting in 1980.
This was taken on my trip there in May of 2015.

I'm not knocking you, that's how I'd prefer to camp too I'm just saying that I can understand why sleeping on the ground doesn't appeal to everyone. Although the last time I went camping that's exactly what I did, the only roof over my head was the sky. I should do that again... it's been years (which is why there are no photos to prove it ).

Sunrise approaching at Haleakala. The horizon did glow orange like in my final image. Blended 5 exposures into 1 in PS CC. 2.39x1 crop ratio for a nice pano look. You can make out the dormant volcano in the center. I will be continuing to work on a few more from this series.


Canon 16-35L

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
Packing up quickly, time to head out. Hit a hotel last night (easier to back everything up).
Here is one using the Rii + FE 70-300mm, a big crop. Poof is loving this lens on the a6300. I like the lens
especially for its weight. I've been using the PZ 18-200 for video and really like it. When we get state-side we'll
put them all together for a YouTube. Well you can't come here and not get sheep, they are everywhere. Probably be
a week or more before I can get back on the net--will have a lot of catching up when we get home-

No one with the 24-70 G Master? That lens by itself might draw me back. I'm thinking a 24-70, the 55, and the 35 2.8 cause it's so cheap and small might do it for me. Had the f4 and had no issues with it, but thinking the 2.8 might be more special.

been living under the rock called work for the last couple weeks...burning it at both ends...but last night while waiting for dinner I edited another from my trip to the Mountains. The Canon 14LII paired really nice with the Sony.

They're worth reading if you're a comic book reader. The scale of the 'war' is much larger....basically have most of the marvel superheros involved including the x-men, fantastic four, etc etc. The plot in the movie is better though....the conflict feels kind of forced.

Per guy on FM: gear box icon, page 7, custom key setting, than go to page 2 . look for focus hold button , select that and do Eye AF

Nice R32. The early 90's JDM cars are becoming to me the classic cars of my dad's era.

In terms of the lifelessness of newer cars...mostly relates to EV's. A lot of my co-workers drive them since I work for an energy company so I've ridden in quite a few. My buddy actually works for a Tesla dealership and brought a Model S P85D to lunch one day....took a ride in it and he floored it on the entrance ramp of a highway. It was the most lifeless 3 second 0-60 I've ever felt. Fast for sure, but it felt like a roller coaster in a bad way.

That's my thoughts on them as well I've been a BMW guy for almost 10 years now because I love the driving experience they offer, but I've driven a few of their newer cars and although they're undoubtedly faster, they feel so much less connected, they're losing their roots :/

For now it seems that it's up to the lower end cars to bring back that excitement... my Mini puts a smile on my face that none of my BMW's did before it. If I were going to buy a brand new car today though it'd be the new Miata, Fiesta ST, Focus RS or Lotus Elise depending on my budget
