Really should have taken an exposure without the glass holder to do a cleaner photoshop job. Eddie xpfloyd lookalike More info | May 30, 2016 13:19 | #18234 Need some advice. I sold my boat last night (nothing fancy just a small fishing boat that I got £500 for) and can't decide what lens to 'invest' the money into. I've been back and forward constantly for weeks with the voigtlander 15 e mount and the Batis 18. The voigtlander is £650 and the Batis is £1190 so a fair difference in cost. The voigtlander is appealing due to its size as I could add it to my bag and not add much more bulk and the Batis is appealing as it takes filters and I love my other Batis lenses. I have also considered swapping my canon 16-35 for the Sony but more recently thought about getting rid of the zoom completely as I shoot it mostly at 16 so could make do with the Batis 18 and 25 for my landscapes. Maybe the new batch will be better. It looks like a very nice lens though. Perfect size with the Sony a series bodies. I would go for the Batis 18 as will complement you 25 nicely. It can also serve as an astrophotography lens. - Alfredo -

Thoughts? If you're not in a rush, maybe wait for the samyang 14? Not really a compact option, but not Zeiss expensive either. Too many compromises for the FE mount voitglander, and it isn't exactly a cheap lens either. focalpointsphoto.com

It can also serve as an astrophotography lens. Batis 18 is back-ordered though. I'm ok playing the lottery a few times if I go the voigtlander route, the Batis 18 was in stock in the uk everywhere but I checked again tonight and it's back ordered everywhere. I normally have a 3 lens walkabout setup and a separate dedicated landscape bag. I don't mind bigger heavier lenses in the landscape bag but like to keep the bag size down for the general walkabout. Currently that bag contains Batis 25, fe55,Batis 85. My thoughts are that I could sneak the voigtlander in there too without having to increase the bag size (which I want to avoid) but the Batis 18 would live in my landscape bag and only go out when I was specifically taking landscapes. On the flip side the Batis seems the better IQ and is filter friendly. Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

I already have the Samyang 14 canon mount in my landscape bag and the fe mount version doesn't actually interest me that much As wouldn't need the af and it will likely be more expensive than the one I have. But again not being filter friendly this lens is basically a nightscape lens to me. Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV
