Jun 07, 2016 22:41 | #18788 Been busy at work all day, so I'm just catching up. Multi-quote to the rescue. navydoc wrote in post #18032078 My new birding setup. ![]() I think this setup will work out well. ![]() Wow. That looks awesome! I have actually been using my A7RII with the 100-400 mk1 a bit around the backyard (and surfing at the beach) and find it to AF well enough. navydoc wrote in post #18032096 I believe the 100-400 Mk II is supposed to focus even faster, at least on the a7rII but for the number of times I shoot using a long lens, I think this will be a great combo for me. One of the reasons why I've hung on to my 5D3 was the fast focusing with this lens. Now, I think I've found a decent replacement for that camera. Same here (with the 6D). Do tell us how the a6300 AF compares to the A7RII for this lens in particular. navydoc wrote in post #18032236 ^^Nice, I really like the colors in that shot Eddie. I just ordered the LowPro RX 300. This is the older version I was able to find and to order because I prefer the layout on the inside of the lid. The newer version is the AW model. This older model also has a female 1/4" threaded mount on the top of the extenable handle for attaching a camera, etc if needed...of course, I hope I get this older roller and not the newer version but one never knows anymore. Once I get it, and hopefully get all my photo gear stowed in it, I'll put up a couple of photos for anyone else that might be thinking about getting something like this. Nice bag! Curious to see how you like it. I am in the market for something like this too. Not really for travel, but for storing everything in one place at home. I am more and more of a mind to sell the Canon 70-200/4 and get the FE 70-200/4. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

But I am very curious, since you own both, how the a6300 compares in terms of AF. That may be the solution for me too. Same here (with the 6D). But I want to see how the 70-300 compares. When do you get yours? Also, i was on the notify list for the Batis 25 at B&H and just got notified that they have some stock today. Since I already got mine from Adorama (I got lucky and happened to check in on the day they had some in stock...), I figured I'd let you all know. I get it thursday, will test it, hoping to keep it for the 300mm, otherwise I will get the 70-200. My trip to AZ is getting cancelled (which means no astro), but I want to make it out to either DTLA or the desert at night. Both locales are screaming for the Batis 18 and Batis 25 to be put to the test. definitely wont be able to do a desert trip, that's way too much for me, isnt that like a 2 hour drive? I have a big family function on sunday that i've got to host so maybe saturday night? Even then, not completely sure, may need to do prep work, and my son is going to get an award, might have to take him out to dinner afterwards.... It'll be real tight, but I'll let you know if I can get out. Jun 07, 2016 23:19 | #18793 I've shot ARTIC many times. It's an interesting shoot. But you can't really spend more than an hour there. And it's mostly one vantage point. A7RII + Canon 70-200/4 IS. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.
