I don't know anything about shooting weddings but we had the a6000 and a6300 side by side on the trip.
Poof kept a wide on one and the 70-300 on the other for over three weeks.
The a6300 is improved with ISO and low light.

Contrary to the 'pro' reviewers and images I've found on the net I don't have any problem with the bokeh
signature of the FE 70-300. Sharpness is relative always to distance, even with the EOS 500/4 or 300 2.8 IS II
I've learned the closer I can get the sharper the image-resolution you say, agreed and the Sony a6300 has plenty
of sensor density for that.
So I post this pic here, even with the a6300, because I know some are considering this lens for the A7Rxxx series cameras.
Besides that the a6300 is an idea companion for the A7Rii-

Test #2 and the 'worst' bokeh I could produce in an hour.
Would be easily solved in PScc but is what it is.

Last test shot with the FE 70-300.
Early in the morning this thief always comes to steal a bounty of bird food.
I think he'd destined to become a hawk dinner-

a6300 arrived. Really liking it so far. Same battery as A7RII = unexpected surprise!. The size is amazing with the FE35 2.8. I need to test it more but im sure eye AF just worked on my cat :)

Also the shutter sound is awesome! Wish the A7RII sounded like that. Burst mode also seems amazing!

i need this lens!

after seeing how metabones even works on my super old sigma 50, it's quite possible it would work with this legend.

Congrats Eddie. I love the fact that I can use the same lenses AND batteries for both cameras. So far, the only thing I find a bit annoying is the location of the memory card slot. I'm so used to replacing the battery whenever I open the battery door that I catch myself with the battery half way out before I realize what I really wanted to do was remove the card. -? :p

I'm sure I'll get used to it in time. :-)

I need to try it out with some of my other lenses but really liking the 35 on it and the 50ish focal length seems good. Finding it odd not having a front dial though and also keep going for custom buttons that are not there but so far so good
