Sony A7x lounge

It's amazing how heavy the a7rii feels after a few hours with the a6300 even with a light lens attached

The a6300 really is a good pair with the a7rii. The controls and menu and AF system is close enough that it doesn't feel strange switching back and forth

We had some crazy weather over sturgeon bay last night. Went from really dry, smoggy and dusty to rolling clouds and severe thunder/lightning in minutes. Being from California, this kind of stuff is pretty new and awe inspiring. I decided to take to the town with my camera and grab a few snaps for you guys!

Between rounds of severe lightning and thunder last night, the sun began to set and left us with this surreal orange glow from the western side of Sunset Park. The best part of this photo, is that it only has minor corrections in LR not to include WB. This is really how orange and glowy the sunset was just before we got hit with another round of rain, wind, lightning and thunder. Surreal.

Awesome! Great light and I don't think I've ever seen horizontal lightning bolts like that.

I honestly don't know how you were able to focus your attention on the bench.

I can only test against the FD 200. Will do that later.

Thanks navydoc. The lightning was something else. It would go off on a 3-4 second wave every few minutes starting from the infinite end of that photo, working its way toward the camera and finishing behind the camera. Some of the weirdest yet most awesome weather phenomenon I've experienced. I wish it had lasted longer so I could get some better composed shots and make something out of it. It is what it is, I'm just glad I got my first lightning photo!

How much did you let the 16-35 go for? If you dont mine me asking, why did you get rid of it. Was considering getting it next.

Ah, that explains it! Didn't occur to me!

It's the canon f/4 version I sold as I decided to go all native and sell all my canon gear (apart from my canon manual lenses). I sold it for £575 (or half a Batis 18 as its better known)

Back from a couple days at the cabin for R&R (and a revisiting of the Milky Way), rejuvenated to process yet another landscape.

Excuse the non Sony photos here everyone but just wanted to post something in relation to RMS Queen Mary seen in Charlies photo here.

Last year I was trying to research the history of my house (mainly what year it was built) and came across the photo below. It was taken in 1934 and shows the Queen Mary under construction at John Browns shipyard in Clydebank (my home town). In the background you can actually see my house. Its the sort of white square underneath the red arrow I have drawn on. Also in the photo is the Titan Crane which is the last remaining crane in this section of the clyde (https://en.wikipedia.o​rg/wiki/Titan_Clydeban​k)

Here is another shot taken in 1935 showing the the Queen Mary being fitted out. It was launched on September 26th 1934. The crane a bit clearer here.

And finally here is a shot out my gallery taken of the crane. I post shots of the crane quite a lot as its only a few mins drive away and I still havent nailed a great sunset at it.
