I'm afraid I have a terminal case of FF snootiness. :p Bigger the sensor the better imo. Only reasons I'm not shooting medium format are: 1. I can't afford it, 2. Cameras are huge (even for me).

add me to the list :p

I'm very thankful for the improvements of the A6300, it'll definitely trickle to the A7riii and later. Would love to have it, but can wait for it. Having shot APS-C for ~5 years and many bodies, I know its limitations and not going there again. I would love a full frame A6300, super small body without evf hump, and the rest of the features. Smaller body is a plus for me, however I can live with the size of the A7rii, it's in my comfort zone and can still fit my specialty bags.

I purchased the XT1 previously and switched from my 5D2. I then didnt like the IQ and subsequently went to canon then sony. Being a pixel peeper I could tell it was a crop sensor and I also didnt like the way the files were handled in LR (others may disagree but thats what happened). Fast forward to now. I have bene using the A7RII and love the IQ, love everything about it in fact. I just added the A6300 and genuinely feel that if that camera had came out before the A7RII (and assuming I had gave it a try) I probably would have settled on it (definitely, maybe :)). The AF is better than the A7RII. The size and weight is better for me shooting mainly my family and young son. Paired with lenses like the FE55, FE35 2.8 and FE28 its just immense and still small. Its even great with slightly larger lenses like the Batis range. Pixel peeping it doesnt show any issues. The only negative is that the high ISO is not as good as the A7RII. Instead of keeping the NR in LR to zero like I do with A7RII high ISO files I have it set to 25 for high ISO A6300 files but its a very minor negative.

Suffering from constant GAS I would be a liar if I was to say I could stick with that camera as my only camera for good but my point is its an amazing camera and theres no reason why it couldnt be a main camera

The biggest draw to me is the size of the a6300. When my first daughter was young (the first year of her life), carrying the NEX-6 with the 24 f/1.8 made it ideal for me. Now that she's older (3) having quicker AF would be appreciated. I now have two kids (3 and 1). I really liked my a7rII, the IQ and high ISO was incredible. AF seemed a little off at times. Could be because I was shooting wide open a lot, could be just dealing with too shallow a DoF, but also just seemed a little too sluggish at times.

I'm hoping the a6300 with faster AF and maybe the 8 FPS thingie will be good. I'll be getting the 24, the 35 APS-C because of the OSS, and the 55 FE. That'll cover my 35/50/85.

It's more a mental thing I have to get over and not let myself get caught up in the 'this would've looked better on a FF', especially since I'm sharing on social media more than I'm printing or cropping. As much as I want to work on my files, the time constraints of having two kids is almost as demanding as the premium on keepig my kit small.

That said, I do respect and acknowledge that aps-c (or smaller) sensors are perfectly capable of tremendous image quality. And I have, more than once, thought about downgrading to APS-C as well because it would be a lot smaller system.

I think I would agree with Vinz though. If I did switch to aps-c I would probably settle on the best Fuji I could get (XT-2 should be out soon) simply because the lens ecosystem is probably better. Well, that's my sense anyway - haven't thoroughly researched it yet. The 6300 is, no doubt, an awesome aps-c camera, but it makes a bit more sense to me as a supplement to an a7 series camera.

Me too. I could never go back to APS-C. Im just too used to FF advantages that everything that I touch that has a smaller sensor than FF becomes unusable to me. When I tried my ex girlfriends A6000 thought, i was quite impressed. I guess the A6300 would be the only APS-C camera i'd ever try.

I have no regrets with the 6300 would use it without hesitation and compare the results vs any camera on the market today

Other note.... Sigh another lens gone. Think it found a good home though

change of plan. i'm blown away by Mark Galer samples here using Voigtlander Super Wide-Heliar 15mm f/4.5 Aspherical III Lens

Corner sharpness is not bad. Any shout out from the owners here?

One big reason is the size. i love how small it is compared to the FE1635.

What do you guys think?

Nice shot of The Loretto, David. My favorite spot to quickly pass slow-pokes on 39th. The first feature length film I worked on, back in the early 90's, we shot a couple scenes in there.

Awesome lens but has variance issues and more copies than not have smeared corners. Shipments have stopped so hopefully voigtlander are addressing the issue. I almost bought one but decided against the lottery. Hope it gets sorted

Mark is using the M version. not the E version which I think is what your comment about production refers to

Thanks! and very cool to know you've shot in there. It's an interesting building, but I've never been in it.

FE 70-300 + smooth reflections, Long beach skyline, not as pin sharp as I would like, however I may keep this compromise as I love the size of the lens and it's fairly well corrected and sharp enough. Was comparing 200mm + 20mp of this old shot vs 300mm + 42mp and it's a big difference on the detail difference.
