Me too. I could never go back to APS-C. Im just too used to FF advantages that everything that I touch that has a smaller sensor than FF becomes unusable to me. When I tried my ex girlfriends A6000 thought, i was quite impressed. I guess the A6300 would be the only APS-C camera i'd ever try.

Unusable? That seems like some major hyperbole to me.

If my X-E2 were just one or two stops better with high ISO I wouldn't hesitate to make a full switch. I simply enjoy using my Fuji gear so much more. I also have a 5 lens kit for my Fuji that cost me considerably less than my 2 lens Sony kit and delivers (to my eyes) 95% of the quality in most light.

Not knocking Sony at all, I still love my a7S, but if you told me I could only keep one camera it would be my X-E2.

I keep contemplating it, but the a7S really does produce amazing photos, it's hard to let go of. I'm going to wait to see what the X-T2 looks like.

The a7S definitely has face and eye detection. I can't say how it compares to an a7ii, but I can tell you that it kicks the pants off of the a7R in every way regarding AF performance and high ISO capability (even as low as ISO1600, the a7S is significantly better).

I know the original a7 was supposed to be about the same as the a7R in terms of low light so I'm assuming the a7S is also significantly better than the a7ii in regards to high ISO.

I don't know how the AF compares to the a7ii, but in single shot AF I find it to be very snappy and accurate, I have very few missed shots.

does the original a7s have eye focus?i thought that was something new in the mark 2 models.my original a7 has face detection but not eye focus. also the original a7s does not have ibis correct, that also was a feature of the mark 2 bodies. to the original poster i would think the ibis and newer af system of the a711 would be more of a positive than a older system a7s though especially with any sort of adapted glass, although i have never shot a a7s with native or adapted glass i would still think the newer af system and ibis of the a711 would be better suited than a older a7s.

That is a FF advantage.

The a7S most definitely has eye focus.

No, it doesn't have IBIS, but being 2+stops better in ISO negates the need in my opinion, in a wedding environment you want to keep your shutter speed relatively fast anyway to avoid motion blur.

As I said, I feel that it's AF system is more than up to the task. I haven't shot with an a7ii body, but most reviews I've read say they're very similar for single shot AF, Steve Huff actually said the a7S was faster than the a7ii in single shot.

I'm waitng for the version that can do all functions even with adapted lenses. Asking too much? maybe, but it would be much easier for me to settle with existing gear.

No doubt it will come eventually. I've fully jumped now though so it interests me less than it did previously

I would love to have one where you don't have to press a button to trigger Eye AF and if you turn on Face Detect it'll turn on Eye AF. Maybe with the next version?

Yeah that would be good. With the a6300 the focus point select is a toggle button so press it once and it stays selected even if you take a shot whereas on the a7rii every time you want to move the focus point after a shot you have to press the button first again.

Surely with firmware they could make eye AF a toggle on/off button too

thinking about the idea more, i was like, i can also use the 16-35 on a wedding reception. Groups shots at 35mm and shooting the entire venue at 16mm.

so kinda not sure yet.

ive never had an a7 but I think you assign a custom button to eye AF. It only works in afs mode
