ive never had an a7 but I think you assign a custom button to eye AF. It only works in afs mode

I had a quick look & drew blanks but with a CV40 attached that might explain things....

yah it seems like zeiss don't mean business. their production is very slow. i remembered how much people had to wait for the batis 85. i think it's backorder now.

I would like to think that Zeiss does mean business, but that the name of their business is Quality. Slow and methodical, for better QC. However, some reports of decentered Loxia 21's have shaken my faith slightly, but on the whole they do seem to enjoy a good track record.

I agree that waiting can be painful and annoying, but be comforted in the knowledge that at this time next year you'll probably have completely forgotten about the wait by then. But, it's human nature, we hate to wait...I really REALLY hate that I have to wait till Sunday @ 9pm EST to see the next episode of GOT.

i just subscribed to the 1635F4 thread. Dang you guys got some serious shots there. Made my GAS worst than ever.

We need to wait to Monday for the same episode - aargh. I also hate waiting on the next season of walking dead to start

still 610 posts behind...slowly working through them...I got out this morning for the first time in a month...great way to wake up, and welcome the new day...a new spot for me that I can see becoming a regular spot, these hot steamy summer mornings mean fog on the water almost daily.

Still amazed that this camera can capture this much information in one frame...

The river orientation is perfect for a sunrise at that location. Sadly not the case here in West Point.

I will be honest, that was a surprise, a welcome one for sure...thanks for the kind words.

Does anyone know if there is any way to disable the focus magnifier when you want frame and focus your shots at the same time?

The way it works, lenses get distributed evenly to stores, so just because BH or Adorama has 200 orders each, doesn't mean they get everything to cover that, they might get 2-3 pieces more, but Zeiss sends out the lenses to other stores as well, they don't play favorites. When a new low supply lens is released buying from large stores that everyone else buys from like Bh and Adorama is a mistake, you will wait for long long time.


start calling smaller camera stores, this is the only way you can get it soon.

When Tamron 150-600 first came out, no one had them in stock, only way i was able to get it was a small store in California, if I remember correctly. Normal price, no markup with full warranty, free shipping and no tax. A friend that ordered the same lens from BH on the same day that I ordered got the lens 6 weeks after I got mine.

turn it off. and configure the c2 to activate it when you need it.

Yep that's what I'm doing now. Calling around to the smaller stores. It's a pain beachside I need to vet them and read some reviews on their store. Pictureline is fantastic. They just didn't have any in stock. I don't know anything about Berger-Bros so I'm hesitant. Thank you for the info though! I could try local stores but don't want to pay sales tax.
