Neither is the 135L but the 70-200 II is! Will try it out.

The 135L is probably the only canon AF lens I would buy. That's disapointing

I just downloaded it - it works on the 24-70 F28 II but it is NOT better - I think it is worse.

Canon lenses are not Sony lenses and it would appear trying to make them focus like Sony lenses is not the best idea - that is my first take.

I hope I can go backwards

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

For those who bought Sigma 20/1.4, did you consider the Tamron 15-30/2.8, and if it didn't
satisfy why not?
I looked at reviews of the Sig 20mm and the demerits include-
star coma
no weather sealing
no stabilization
I'd kinda get double duty-normal wide landscapes and astro-with which ever I end up with.

That's too bad. I really appreciate the first-impression review...I will be skipping the upgrade until I start seeing some raves about it.

Please let me know how the 70-200 II works out.

Very close to pulling the trigger on the Sony 70-200 or 70-300, but this may change my mind.

trust me - don't upgrade the software - it is not good

couldn't get eye AF to work for more than a millisecond and then the little square goes away (with 24-70, Tamron 45 & 85)

the lenses do the hunt back forth then lock on and it is not quiet

keep the old software or buy Sony lenses

i just figured out you can go backwards if you do upgrade - when you connect the adapter you need to hold down the button on the adapter otherwise it won't let you launch the updater to install the old software - it thinks you have the newest version and won't launch the update process

i just re-installed .49 because it works very well on the Canon 24-70, 35Lii, Tamron 85

Paul, different question: how well does your Tamron 85mm AF on your a7R II? My 90mm Macro (the new version released alongside the 85) is pretty awful on the a7R II (but fine on the 5DS R). In retrospect I should have got the 85mm...I just really don't give a ____ about macro photography.
