welps, sure enough, it's junk, .50 is unusable.

sigma 50, can no longer AF
EF 100, all over the place with AF. It does detect the eye, lockon AF enabled, but it wont lock and loses it.

if you mount with the button, then it reverts it to current day metabones, however, I dont want to mount it that way every time I uses it, so back to .46. I'm glad that MB is headed that direction

Wow that's a bummer that the update is not quite ready. I hope there is another point update soon.

for those that tried .50, have you tried the "green" mode? according to Metabones if you switch the adapter to green mode it works like it did before, so no need to reflash it.

Anyone have any experience with the "tested" lenses and the adapter? Bummer that the 24-70II doesn't work. I really don't want to pay GM money for the two zooms.

A few weeks ago I said here that I'm buying the Godox V860I-S flash and the Godox X1t-s transmitter. No Misfires. You just have to put the flash in Slave mode and check your channel and group.

Sorry for the late update.

i'm happy to inform you that the setup is awesome..... recycle time up to 1/2 +3 is instant, for full power recycle is 2secs. very impressive. no misfires

this one... With Li-On Battery

why did you return the nissin? and what version?

isn't a battery back a bad idea? what guarantee you have they will be available a year from now.

Not to confuse the issue for you but I have two Nissin Di700A flashes and the Air 1 Commander and love them. I will say that I don't use flash often but love the idea of being able to use both flashes off camera and controlled by the Air 1. It's easy to adjust power ratios, Sony's TTL is supported as well as HSS.

it's funny, I didnt actually try the 135L, but the 50/100f2 is just as important for me, maybe even more since I use it more. They do work in the other mode, but that's not default. May retry it with the 135 just to verify, and if it works, I'll just remember to switch modes when I'm not using the 135.

not a big fan of partially working firmware, and generally, the 135 doesnt get as much use unless I want super IQ.

It looks like you don't have to downgrade. Just change the setting back to Green AF.

Also what is focus hold? It's now supported by holding down the button on the adapter itself.

I re-installed the software again to try out the 'push the button' mounting process that brings up the 'old' software - it does work.

So I'm now running the new software, tested out a bunch of lenses using the 'push the button' method and they all work like they did on the .49 version.

I then tried the new 'I'm now a Sony lens' without pushing the button - lets just say I won't be using it. It is coming down to a Phase Detect / Contrast Detect I'm a Canon lens don't try and focus me like a Sony lens. It is loud, not as quick as the 'old way' and you can tell the lens doesn't like it. And, in my mind, the main benefit is EyeAF which I can't get to consistently work with 24-70, 70-200, 45 Tamron, 85 Tamron, 35L II - i.e. any and all lenses I would use for portraits - so there is no point.

I also own the Sigma MC-11 - and the Sigma MC-11 using the Sigma 24-105 is much better but still not great - and at least the EyeAF almost reliably works - but it is better using the 'old focusing method - which unfortunately you can't do with the Sigma MC-11 if it is a Sigma lens.

If you want EyeAF - buy a Sony lens

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

ok, I take it back, it works somewhat, just not nearly as good as native.

drawbacks
near MFD, it doesnt seem to AF, normal MB seems fine in that regards
at typical working distance, seems ok, lock on doesnt work very good.
camera locked up on me while AF and shooting...

as long as you shoot double MFD and further, it seems like it's working..... kind of a heavy drawback. Seems to need really good light to work or maybe doesnt work well backlit?

my older 50 simply doesnt work in the normal mode, which I guess I can live with, just switch to green mode or whatever.
