Curious, where did you hear this? - BP -

The power of a brand name like theirs is impressive. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want one, but I guess if I'm going to start putting aside pennies, there's no rush. Somewhere in Sweden there are some mid-level executives doing research on costs for additional manufacturing facilities. haha I'm not saying that it isn't their brand, it is just that I think the photographic world has been waiting for a camera like this to come for a long time - very similar to the Sony A7Rii when launched. Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Fred just pointed that out to me on FM. I'm about to retest. I thought it had to be done at f/8 as I thought the dof would be an issue. I'll redo and post the result Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

Jun 24, 2016 12:49 | #19675 Eddie, the corners look about the same. Maybe the upper left is a bit sharper but not by much. Don't think it would matter in real world shooting. They do look a bit soft so I don't know if all the Batis 18 lenses are like that. If they do then it's a keeper but if most others are sharper then I would try getting another copy. Tough to decide without looking at others. - Alfredo -

Looks terrible but not sure if thats as good as it gets wide open at 18mm?? (bear in mind I focussed in the centre then moved the camera) http://www.fredmiranda.com …pic/1437355/0#lastmessage it doesnt look great, but it does look fairly centered, all extremes look equally soft and closest towards center look similar. I know my SY 14 has a noticeable discrepancy where this is fine IMO. If you've got major OCD, you may have another opinion Sony A7siii/A7iv/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD
