Finally got the Batis 85mm to its 1st portrait shoot out - relatively small, light, sharp as hell, so far so good - <3 it

I wish there was a way to make the sensor from collecting all the dust. At f22 I had to clean some 20+ spots from the frame that are barely visible to the naked eye on the face of the sensor (and to which air can do very little).

Out of curiosity why are you shooting at f/22?

Just trying out different things. No reason really.

When we were in Iceland last month it got so bad (sensor dust) I had to wet clean....took three swabs.
I did change lenses a lot. The better half using a6300 and a6000 hardly ever changed lenses.

yeah, few pages back I had an idea of sony adding a "curtain" to drop when camera is off, would help with the dust when changing lenses.

It's so strange to me that so many of you have so many dust issues... I get dust specs every now and then, but usually never enough to need a sensor swab and I change lenses like crazy.

Same. About a week ago I noticed loads of spots on a photo I took. A good blast with the rocket blower sorted it but that's the first issue I can remember happening

I keep meaning to buy one of those sensor Loupes to check if it is actually clean but I'm worried that sends me down a path of obsessive checking and cleaning constantly :)

I guess I was correct - for A7Rii owners the new 'native' software is not good. I did download and install the new, new version, and the now default mode is the old phase detect focus and it works perfectly. I no longer have the 85L II so I can't test out the specific update that was added for it.

All it back to normal.

I think this probably confirms that the MC-11 hybrid contrast / phase detect dream is just not going to materialize for most traditional EF lenses - not that the MC-11 cannot catch up and equal the Metabones IV T in Phase detect mode.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

sounds like MB just reversed the modes. I dont think they can make a realistic fix that fast. IMO, if they cant hash it out by end of year, then you're probably right.
