Very nice vinz. The silhouette of the tree with the light pollution behind it really adds to the composition.

Yes but we are experiencing certain failures with it. Had to return the controller to Joe for repair/replacement. Once it got
back now we're having problems with both (bought two initially, one for backup) reservoirs/drip nozzles.
Still works, but control is iffy at best. Here's my last from before out trip overseas-

I think if I were to purchase again I'd go with a company in the states for quicker turn around when things go

I too had trouble with the reservoir/nozzle, but Joe sent me a free new one. Were I to get enthusiastic again about drop collision photography, I would probably get Cognysis triple-head equipment, but the Cognysis distributor in the UK doesn't seem to stock them, so I would be in the same position as you, with a dependence on a transatlantic supplier. Not good.

One my dad took of me on Fathers Day while he was playing with my a7S, he seemed to like it a lot (even though he missed focus a bit)

MM, maybe wait on the wonderpana till after you've used the lens a while and really determined you want the hassle of the wonderpana? I got one for the TS-E 17: it's great, but huge.

I have been missing the crap out of the 11-24 and may make a move to reaquire it. If so I might also get the wonderpana for that lens.

Last thing I remember you saying was you didn't like the bokeh of the 11-24 even though it was a (very) sharp lens (there were other reasons too I believe, but I don't exactly remember them anymore). A new batch of lenses won't solve these problems. So you considering buying another 11-24... It doesn't make any sense if you ask me.

What luminance value or brightness are you guys calibrating your monitors? I think I had mine set to 100. I think that's why my images may appear brighter on your displays since I wasn't pushing the blacks far enough.

I calibrate my monitor using an i1Display Pro. Luminance I use in i1Profiler is 120 cd/m². When you're editing pictures, I'm gonna say the same as photographer Ben Long: go by the numbers (i.e. read your histogram). Don't rely on how it looks on an uncalibrated monitor, since you don't know how other people use their monitor. Some prefer to have their brightness at max level, while others like it at a (very) low level.

Nah, we don't have that much chance to win it. Our coach sucks (he can't get the full potential out of the team). And we haven't got any superb strikers. I'm guessing Italy, Germany or maybe France will win Euro 2016.

OK, let me review my historical and present context for wanting the 11-24mm back in my bag:

1. I have never complained about the 11-24mm bokeh...an 11-24mm f/4 lens is not ever a lens I even regard as a bokeh lens (I think you might be thinking about my small criticisms of the 35L II).
2. I had actually expressed some reservations about the 11-24 sharpness after an architectural shoot a year ago September, however:
a. When I had it I tested it exhaustively against the EF 16-35L f/4L II and found it was nearly identical in sharpness at common focal lengths (16-24mm), so I was reasonably satisfied with it.
b. I had sold off my TS-E 17 and 24 to fund the 11-24 before I ever purchased my 5DS R or a7R II, and I had a false sense that the TS-E 17mm would be sharper than the 11-24mm on those high resolution cameras. Not long ago I re-acquired the TS-E 17mm and instantly realized that it is really no sharper/better than the 11-24 or 16-35mm. So, it has taken me a bit of testing and discovery to draw my conclusions about how satisfied I can be with the 11-24mm regarding sharpness.
3. Outstanding landscape photographer and frequent FM contributor Mark Metternich raves about the 11-24mm and recently said this about it:

"Here is a new take on a somewhat popular waterfall using the Canon 11-24 at 11mm. By far my favorite lens I have ever owned. I have been shooting with it for a year now and I would estimate that I shot about 85% of all my images in the last 12 months, at 11mm."

That's the sort of endorsement that even more makes me want to drop everything and get that great lens back in my bag.

I have another photo assignment for KC, which I think I will schedule for September...I'll probably re-introduce it to my bag for that project and hopefully without need to sell anything. Overall I really am super-happy with all my gear - I don't shoot my long lenses that much, but it doesn't make sense to sell them. Only thing I rarely ever use is my 40mm pancake...that I probably should sell as it sits on a shelf.

My money is on Belgium or germany

Can't say I'm surprised by the result this evening. With this backup defense we would have even lost against San Marino.

There goes my prediction. Welsh goals were top notch
