Love those shots, Carlo.

I asked something similar yesterday: For those of you who have or have tried the Batis 85 and the FE 90 Macro. Does the Batis focus faster? The FE is fairly sluggish (which is to be expected for a Macro lens). I'm considering selling it and getting the Batis 85 instead.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Not so happy here, because my grandmother died on the 4th of July (about 5,5 hours ago).

Sorry to hear of your loss. Condolences.

Jocau, I'm sorry for your loss. I have one grandma left in Mexico. Wish I could visit her more often.

Thanks Nadim. The FE90 is an especially slow focusing lens... 85 focuses much more quickly.

Jocau, you have my sympathies as well. Treasure the time you had with your grandmother and savor the memories you shared with her.

Very sorry to hear about your grandmother Jocau. I lost both of my grandmothers a couple of years back. They've left a void that's never really been filled. Grandmothers are a special thing.

Fourth of July photos. The other kids were not cooperating. Also...comparison between the SAL 135 f1.8 and 85GM. I like that the rendering between the two lenses is very similar, as it gives more consistency when switching between the two lenses.

Yeah I definitely do more portraits then macro. Do you think 85gm is fast enough for two year old on the move?

I haven't tried it yet with a two years old. if the eyes are visible, the eye focus should help and if the camera miss the eyes, it will go face detect automatically.

I hope I can find a two years old subject soon.

The 85GM is roughly the speed of the 85L on the 5D3, so it really depends on your acceptance level.

My youngest is a year and a half old...and my middle is about to turn 3. The lens is slow, but can make small adjustments quickly enough for semi-controlled portraits and its worked well. It's fast enough for eye focus to work consistently. It's pretty slow when making large focus distance adjustments, so not so good for kids running around....though 85mm is not really a focal length suited for that anyway. Best bet is a zoom for that.

Went to see some local riders doing some amazing stunts on canada day. Sony a7 with canon 70 200 f4. Af was to slow so I used manual focus on these.
