In a mood for bugs this week :)
This bug got me last year. Finger numb for hours, wound took over a week to heal.
It is an Assassin Bug I think; locally we call them Wheel Bugs. They are BAD NEWS.

That's a much better shot than I was able to get of one. At the time, I had no idea what it was but once I found out, was happy that he was walking away. ;-)a

Cool to see some macro shots here. I tried to get a few shots of a jumping spider handheld and in poor light. I need to get a cable for my flash and find a way to diffuse the light.

More bugs to come but back to boring landscapes from the trip. I'm almost done with them and need to be before
the next trip (Panama) in November.

Again using the adapted EOS 24-70. I abs. love this lens, it truly is macro capable and has a switch on it labeled
macro-

Flash definitely helps. I used a Nissin Di700A mounted on the camera with this mini 'softbox' (external link) for this shot...

Gene...that image is gonna cause me insomnia...spiders give me the creeps...

A sunset from vacation, I liked the cooler tones, purples, pinks and faded blues...it was not a big giant sunlight extravaganza...but I liked the subtle curves of the tidal marshlands...

I'm reminded that this must be the kind of landscape our forefathers saw when they explored the wildernesses of North America. Beautiful light and serenity captured.

A little different kind of macro shot...my new watch.

Syncs with the atomic clock in Colorado and is solar powered.
