You may not prefer a softer look in this case but here's a quick edit I did by using a negative clarity adjustment. I also bumped up the white point too and tried to make her eyes stand out a bit more. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

TRhoads Cream of the Crop More info | Jul 07, 2016 07:26 | #20238 I like your edit Gene, I prefer the softer edit myself and tend to reduce clarity a little bit, especially working with women up close...it presents the softer side and not so harsh. Especially with freckles. Website

Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Especially with freckles. As a person with freckles, last name O'Neil, I have experimented a lot with the B&W higher contrast freckle look and it can be done well - it is a different look, more artistic, but my experience is that you actually want to bump up the contrast more and also bump up the white point to further increase the look. It doesn't work in every case, but occasionally it creates a popping artistic image that the client likes. I didn't do it here, I would if I had the raw file, but it is usually necessary to remove a freckle or two if the higher contrast technique creates an area that is too dark (you can see it here under her nose). I personally like the look. Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC.
