I really need to try and more creative stuff like this. You've been getting a lot out of that iphone lighting. Who needs flash!

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

From that image it looks like the GM is a DSLR design and the adaptor is basically built in. I know nothing about lens design though so that could be nonsense

That's certainly what looks like. The extra size doesn't make it better since it matches Canon iq which is smaller.

Don't forget, you need him to clean your Sony sensor too. :p

Just stumbled across this device https://www.amazon.co.uk …+JL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1 (external link)

Basically a 1TB drive (2TB available too) with an SD card slot so you can back your photos up whilst away on a trip without the need for a laptop.

Anyone using anything like this? I thought it might be good for my upcoming USA trip so that I had a backup of my images as I wasn't planning on taking my macbook

Eddie thanks for the link. That drive is something I've looked/hoped for. Looks perfect for many applications. I can use my Dell Venue (very very small/lightweight) for viewing and this
drive for the backups.
BUT how would one back up CF and CFast cards?

It's got usb 3 also so I think you can plug in a cf card reader

I'm now doubting myself. It says usb 3.0 in the title but I watched the demo video and it didn't mention it so now unsure?

I had the idea of picking up a petzval lens for the swirly bokeh effect thinking it was a cheap legacy lens. It seems to be a new lens which is expensive and is something to do with Kickstarter?

Are there any old (cheap) legacy lenses that give this effect? I seem to remember there being a Russian one but can't for the life of me think of the name

Edit - it's the Helios 44-2 , just found the info

I have a 44-2 album on my Flickr mate ;)

Ugly lens but great effects in the right circumstances. I have a 44-2 and a 77m-4 :)
