Well, stinker. I've had an unplanned expense come up and it looks like I'll be returning the CV 10mm. I may re-purchase later, but I'm also eyeing that Laowa 12mm f/2.8 due out later this fall.

The new expense? I just hit my limits with our existing bed, so we decided to replace it right away. Hoping it helps solve my sleep disorder crisis that I've been going through for a few months now.

Got to prioritize health ahead lenses (especially if they're 10mm). :p

I won't take a loss on it, since it's within the return period, but if anyone wants to snag it before it's returned shoot me a PM to discuss.

My Sleep Number is 95, just saying.

Flickr is owned by Yahoo and Yahoo just got bought out by Verizon, expect quality of service to drop

One reason ---the distrust of Verizon--- that I've already migrated everything Flickr to Smugmug. Why Smugmug? It was a random choice.

I'm happy with Smugmug except for the odd name. It's very reliable and customizable. I have it setup to sell prints. Haven't anything yet but at least the site is all ready.

I predict mass exodus from Flickr shortly...

Did you download a copy of all your Flickr images back to your hard drive or did you upload the images that you already have on your hard drive up to Smugmug? If you downloaded your Flikr photos, what 3rd party app did you use?

Good to know. I've done the AT through Ga. and a few other states and Ga. kicked my arse; the mountains there are worse than the ones in NC,TN or Va.
Well shouldn't really worse-they're all beautiful, just the AT through Ga was steep.

I have done a good bit here...yes, its steep!

I am in the process of a redesign/update of my Smugmug site...hate the name, but have now set it up that I have a custom domain that points to the smugmug site, so it works for me. I find it easier to create and edit for an ID10T like myself...I looked at several others and settled back into SM...

I don't keep anything of any decent size on there, they are all downsized copies...does anyone actually store full rez files on there? Even my SM site, not full rez, I don't have it setup to buy prints directly, I handle it all...control freak...

Thanks but that's a plugin for Firefox which I don't use.

I still have all my full sized files on my local computer but I wanted to be able to download all my Flickr images at the resolution I uploaded them as so I can then re-upload them to Smugmug. I think I'll just use the method of selecting my images on the "camera roll" page and download them that way.

I'm another one that has recently grown tired of Fliickr. They arbitrarily decided that the ID to my Pro account was no longer valid, and no amount of emails between me and Flickr support, with all the password changing, etc., etc., could get me back in to my account. Complete shambles.

So I re-uploaded everything to Smugmug - then used their Custom Domains system to lose the Smugmug name. None of that is free, but it works, and so far I am very happy with the change.

Apart from the glitch last week where I couldn't upload for a few hours flickr has been fine for me. For me flickr is just a place to be able to upload my photos for posting here and FM with the option of choosing different sizes.

Yes I batch downloaded via some app to hard drive then used smuglr app back to smugmug and then began the mass uploading (think 12,000 files for the Iceland trip alone). The mass uploading from 9 terabytes is still ongoing and will be for some time. Trying to remember the app I used for the big download from Flickr we just got off a trail and not near home..

I have the 24-70 GM in hand right now. Initial impressions....big and heavy lens as expected, but switching back and forth between it and the Canon, the GM balances better with the body. With adapted lenses, the set up feels particularly front heavy because the adapter itself weighso next to nothing.
