I don't think I've been to that particular spot, but yeah. That whole area is full of cliffs and sharp drop overlooks. I'd never climb on a ledge overlooking 100 foot drop just to take a picture.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

I think he's referring to "Eye AF". Metabones released a firmware update that claimed to give Canon lenses native features.... it didnt work very well last I tried. Good thing is that you press the button and mount, and you're in native mode, remount without pressing anything, and regular pdaf mode.

Ah..thanks...i misunderstood the question then...i have held off updating the adapter based on the reports of it not working...

Interesting that people can have such different experiences...makes me believe it could be lens specific issues...in my experience it works better and is sharper than it was on my 7D or 5D2.

I think oodee was commenting on my eye AF query, not the AF function. I'm sure it focusses fine but was curious to how well metabones had cracked the eye AF with this lens

Edit - I should really read to the end before commenting :D

With the 50L, I tried eye focus with the tech-art saker falcon light adapter. It was pretty decent, but extremely buggy.

well, the eye AF is quite usable on the 135 in single shot mode, but AF-C can become a disaster with any large movements. I'll have to try it some more with the older kids to say for sure. Does seem quite useable for posed shots, hitting eyeball near MFD on the 135L, pretty big accomplishment in itself.

I don't have the 10. I do own the CV 15 and Batis 18, but chose to leave both of those at home that night. My mistake. But I think the 15 and 18 are too close. I'm tempted to sell the CV 15 and replace it with the CV 10 to have a bit more range (10, 18, 25, etc.)

And thanks for the kind words!

You would not regret that

Alfredo, do you find the batis 18 to be too close to the loxia 21?

It's probably better it doesn't work well. I'm supposed to be selling my metabones not buying the 135L for the 3rd time! :D

I never got the loxia as I thought it was too close to the Batis 25. If I didn't have the Batis I would probably go for the B18 and Lox 21. That said I've talked myself out the CV15 as I thought it was too close to the B18 and that's the same gap as the B18/lox 21 so I'm not really sure now. I've had the idea of adding the 16-35 Sony to my landscape kit but unsure of that too. I was shooting a landscape the other night (poor light so binned the shot) and the B25 was a bit too wide in that instance and I didn't have anything else beyond that. For some odd reason it seems odd to me to use the FE55 for landscapes but I really should try it.

Sorry for my ramblings

Just wait a little bit. I bet there will be a native 135mm prime with AF before the end of the year (Batis or Sony).

It's the 135L price that's appealing (£600) but when you factor in the £300 metabones it's suddenly not so appealing. A 135 Batis will likely be £1000-£1200 here

I think it depends on what you shoot. They each fill a need for what I shoot. Could I use the lox 21 for interior architecture? Sure I can but I prefer the Batis 18. The reverse is true of landscapes. I prefer the Loxia in those cases. I think both are great additions to my bag and are my most used lenses. If I was only shooting landscapes, I would be happy just with the Loxia 21.

Yeah, but the adapter adds bulk/weight to the whole setup and there's the chance of annoyances like for example light leaks, internal reflections, buggy Eye AF etc.
