In other news, looks like my Canon 16-35L just sold. I'll miss the beautiful star bursts it creates.

Haha. Yep that's right.

Cool gear in that photo. Do you listen to a certain streaming service like Spotify?

Yeah I usually listen to spotify at work or at the gym...these new headphones will be for work, and my sennheiser momentums have been bumped to gym duty. I'm not enough of an audio snob to inconvenience myself for the sake of minute improvements to audio quality so Spotify is good to go for me. I do have a premium account and stream at high quality though.

Give it a go. I tried for the first time on the lake this past weekend. I did wind surfing for years and the board itself was reminscient.
Instead of a sail and wind for stability you have the paddle-just keep it moving and all is good.

Haha. I know that you have suffered knee problems in the past MM, but compared to me you are a super-fit, sprightly, young chap. Coupled with which, I have a particularly ardent desire that at the moment I shuffle off this mortal coil, I shall be both warm and dry!

Glad it's working out for you!

You can see the slightest of color casts in the photo of your wife. Not too bad but if you end up in a venue with really heavy tungsten lights, you'll need to gel the speed light to match the color temperature of the ambient. Your expodisc will take the guess work out.

unexpected surprise on DXO, 24-70GM updated scores with the A7rii, and the sharpness scores improve dramatically

https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

FE 55 on the A7rii, a whopping 40mp score on sharpness, an 11mp jump. It's safe to assume that the full sharpness of the lens is yet to be known, it's simply outresolving the A7rii with that type of number.
https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

FE35, also a huge number boost in max sharpness
https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

Batis 25, up 14mp, huge jump
https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

Loxia 21, huge jump
https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

basically, the A7rii body has pulled incredible numbers compared to the A7r, wonder how much is due to shutter shock....

On my monitor, I think the overall tones are a bit red and I wish her eye shadow wasn't so dark. Here's a quick adjustment I made for comparison.

(Now there may be a bit too much green. )

Here is the response I got from Venus Optics regarding the shift converter with a Sony FE mount.

My question: "Will the shift converter work with the new 12mm Zero-D wide angle lens in Sony FE mount?"

And their reply: "Yes. The Magic Shift Converter is to use with Canon/Nikon mount lens on Sony FE mount camera."

So there it is, the lens has to be Canon/Nikon mount and the converter will work on a Sony FE mount camera.
