Thanks Gene. Here is their response on the optics for the E mount.

"Sony E mount lens will have the same optics design as Canon/Nikon except the different housing."

On my monitor, I think the overall tones are a bit red and I wish her eye shadow wasn't so dark. Here's a quick adjustment I made for comparison.

(Now there may be a bit too much green. )

I prefer Vinz's original, I think red tones are much more flattering with portraiture than green tones are.

Why would it be any other way? We see the same thing with other third party lens makers too. Personally, I'm fine with it. Part of the issue with non-retrofocal wide angles is that the light around the edges of the frame is hitting the sensor at an oblique angle, which creates heavier vignetting. Also, not having to redesign the optics for the Sony mount keeps the costs down, as a non-retrofocal design would require them to engineer an entirely separate lens that likely wouldn't perform as well. I'll take cheaper with less vignetting. ;)

Personally, I think the greens should be green. Green works really well as a background color against Caucasian skin. It's actually often recommended when looking for portrait backgrounds. The issue is keeping skin tones correct.

I simply asked the vendor because there were some questions posed here the other day. I agree it makes sense to have the same design across the various mounts. I'm in favor of cheaper but more importantly high performing lenses.

I'm leaning towards the Godox. Forget the exact model.

Godox or other re-brands like Cheetah or Neewer?

Godox seems better, but that tiny Nissin is so small.

Godox TT685s. Yes the Nissin looks good too but the cycle times are not great from what I've read.

unexpected surprise on DXO, 24-70GM updated scores with the A7rii, and the sharpness scores improve dramatically

https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

FE 55 on the A7rii, a whopping 40mp score on sharpness, an 11mp jump. It's safe to assume that the full sharpness of the lens is yet to be known, it's simply outresolving the A7rii with that type of number.
https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

FE35, also a huge number boost in max sharpness
https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

Batis 25, up 14mp, huge jump
https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

Loxia 21, huge jump
https://www.dxomark.com …nted-on-Sony-A7R-II__1035 (external link)

basically, the A7rii body has pulled incredible numbers compared to the A7r, wonder how much is due to shutter shock....

The 85 GM, Batis 25 and FE 35 all have a sharpness score of 36 on the A7RII. The FE 28 is now showing 35 for sharpness and 40 overall. Confirms what I already thought about the lens. The new testing also shows that the Batis 85 is very close to the 85 GM. The 90 Macro is showing 42MP sharpness! I assume that means that is is genuinely out resolving the sensor?

Yep, hardly any difference in sharpness between the 85GM and Batis 85. Apart from that the Batis is a prettier lens (subjective of course), is cheaper, smaller and lighter. I also prefer the 3D pop from Zeiss lenses.
