Again adapting the 300/2.8ISii + MT T iv to the A7Rii.
This combo just might make the Panama trip.

I have been really enjoying Thomas Brigantino's YT channel lately. He has some clever tips that I'd not seen before. Here is his tip for restoring White Balance. I went ahead and made an PS action for it and it works great. I've tested/compared it to a calibrating with a gray card and the results are, for my needs, exactly the same. Very cool stuff!

Yeah, I'm comfortable with my height, just wanted to point out that projections are basically malarky as far as I'm concerned  My dad's about 5'11" and my mom's about 5'6" so it's not like I'm that far off from their heights.

Just watched this, you'll probably enjoy it ;)

It's held up so far for my oldest who just turned 8. He's steadily been in the 90th percentile and is the tallest in his class despite being the youngest (august baby).

Interestingly enough im an even 6 ft but my brother and parents are short. In my case there's more to it than DNA....I was born here in the US and grew up on a western diet. Didn't like filipino food as a kid at all.

My brother immigrated here when he was 8 and I was 4....I have a good 4 inches on him

Off-topic (maybe not since Apple uses Sony sensors). I'm going to order the new iPhone for my wife at midnight tonight. Not going to lie...I'm excited to play with the new dual camera they put into it....particularly the DOF effect. I had an HTC one at one point that used a dual camera to produce composite image with one camera defocused and the other in focus, but the execution wasn't so great. I personally use android devices, but Apple's execution tends to be more refined, so maybe they've done a better job with this.

I'm still doubting if I should pre-order. I have an iPhone 5 that is still plenty fast in my opinion. The (original) battery also still lasts about 2 - 2.5 days. On the other hand I would still get some money for my iPhone 5 now. But yeah I have lots of gear that could use an upgrade (iPad 3 -> 4,5y old / iPhone 5 -> 4y old / Gaming PC -> most hardware around 5y old / DSLR -> around 5,5y old) and limited funds.

OFF topic.

What do you think about the new iPhone 7 Plus(especially the dual lens) and iWatch 2?

I have played around with virtually any iPhone/iPad model at work and came to a simple conclusion: for me the Plus models are too big and I prefer the 5/5S/5C/SE form factor over the 6/6S/7 form factor (even though the 6/6S/7 form factor is doable).

Agree with that. My mate has the 6 plus and it's ridiculous (IMO). Much prefer my 5S size. My iPad is also a 3 retina so pretty old but it's been in a leather case from day one and is totally unmarked and still performs as it should. I see no reason to upgrade until it breaks

Thanks David. The low light ability of the two will be important there. I've got 7 weeks to figure out what's going.

it's funny, my mom likes the 5s size and form factor so much, she bought 2 of them in case her original breaks. She doesnt like the big phones.

I'm using a big phone right now, and it just grows on you. It's real nice, but most importantly is the fingerprint reader :-P

I'm so not joking about that fingerprint reader, it's soooooooo good, and there are apps can use it and store credentials. So awesome considering I have to deal with complex passwords and a password manager, typing it in can be a chore, 25 character passwords, and NOT phrases :-P

Got yet another camera...well more of an every day bag for work to carry my laptop, and miscellaneous (camera). Lowepro Streetline.

IMAGE: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a321/mystik610/_DSC2749_zpsek3ypxbk.jpg
IMAGE LINK: http://s14.photobucket.com …2749_zpsek3ypxbk.jpg.html (external link)

This seems like Lowepro's take on Peak Design's everyday messenger (which I also own and use on gigs). To me the lowepro works better as an everyday bag for carrying a camera and extra stuff, while the peak design is a really well thought-out camera bag, but a camera bag first and foremost. The lowepro also isn't as rigid as the peak design, which has a tendency to look massive once you put gear in and it expands.

Inside the bag: RX1RII, Nissin i40, headphones, 15 inch macbook pro, portfolio folder and other misc stuff.

IMAGE LINK: http://s14.photobucket.com …48-2_zpswcereybr.jpg.html (external link)

If you wanted to go full-on gear mode you can actually stuff a pretty decent kit in here. Here's the bag with the a7rII + 24-70GM, 85GM, and just for fun, the Canon 70-200 2.8II WITH the metabones adapter attached. Laptop and portfolio still fit in there too.

Badly composed photo. Definitely not 5DIII thread worthy :-P but too lazy to re-take it

Then you are misinformed. The 7 Plus has the exact same dimensions as the 6S Plus. Same story for the 6S and 7 (see iPhone 6S/6S Plus specs (external link) and iPhone 7/7 Plus specs (external link)).

My iPad 3 feels incredibly slow after installing iOS 9. And it won't support iOS 10. So it needs the upgrade the most. But even though it's really slow, I still love using it.

Speaking of iphone 7/7+, how many of you are pre-ordering tonight? I've been pre-ordering mine every 2 years since iphone 3 era via AT&T, but just found out AT&T no longer provide 2 year contracts meaning I have to pay full price of the phones no matter what (whether it's monthly installments or one time full price, and yes full tax up front either way). In the past, I'd upgrade my phone at minimal cost (with 2 year contract) and sell current phone, then I'd pretty much even out. Now, even if I recoup some cash back by selling current phone, I'd still need to cough up around $500+ per phone... sigh..

I always have to pay the full price since I buy them without a mobile phone contract. That's why I try to keep my smartphones for at least 3 years. Expensive toys. :p

You can do it right on Apple's website, and are able to specify your carrier. They have financing options you can opt for. The two year contracts were basically baked in financing agreements anyway. These things are $500+ no matter how you slice it :-)
