Uhm, no. Optical zoom is up to 2x, after that it's digital zoom.

I mean, whatever floats your boat... but why? I kinda don't understand how iPods are even still a thing, it's so much more convenient to just have your music on your phone with you, one less device to carry around. I haven't used my iPod in years.

My iPhone is a lot more cumbersome than my iPod shuffle. My iPod shuffle is very small, it clips onto virtually anything (e.g. my jeans) and I can operate it without looking at it. In my case listening to music without being behind a PC or being in a car basically equals practicing sports or doing some kind of fitness exercise. And I prefer an iPod shuffle in those situations.

There are however some cool facts about the new camera in the iPhone 7/7 Plus:

- Optical image stabilization
- Backside illumination sensor
- And lastly, the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will both be able to capture images in RAW using Adobe’s DNG format, which should allow one to perform additional tweaks in post-processing software like Lightroom

In (very) good light even my iPhone 5 camera is decent. And it's the only camera I have with me all the time. You just have to be aware of its limitations. For instagram pictures my iPhone is perfectly adequate. For anything serious, I'd take my DSLR out.

i think i miss the part that says it can shoot in raw. none also in the specs link you provided.

I heard it while watching the livestream of the Apple event. Other websites have picked it up too. Apparently it's not only limited to the iPhone 7/7 Plus.

iPhone and iPad apps will be able to shoot RAW photos with iOS 10

- Third party developers will be able to shoot and store raw photos, but it’s something they’ll have to add to their apps — it won’t just suddenly start working across all your apps when you update to iOS 10.
- It’ll work with the rear camera only
- As with many DSLRs, iOS can handle shooting in RAW and JPEG simultaneously
- It’ll be available to apps running on the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, SE, and the 9.7” iPad
- RAW photos will be stored in Adobe’s Digital Negative (DNG) file format

I wouldn't be surprised if the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have better shadow recovery than my Canon 550D (T2i). Would be a big, fat LOL though.

so it will come with IOS10. It must be in the OS description. I also watch the whole show but missed it. and since my iPhone 6S is upgradable to IOS10, i will have raw capability soon.

I wish the ipod shuffle has Bluetooth. if it did, as much as I hate iTunes, I would get one. I love the size, weight, and the feature.

yah with the Sony BSI sensor.

Samsung already offer raw format on their previous models. no biggy there for iPhone

and just to add, the current iPhone looks like sony's old xperia z phone. apple should go sue themselves on behalf of sony

also sd card slot, something apple will never offer to have for their loyal customers.

sounds like I'm an apple hater, but I chose not to go with apple because of iTunes and limitations. otherwise I LOVE the iPhone 4/s design.

apple has a great philosophy, very similar to canon. They may not have frills or experiment, but their features are solid and intuitive. THey dont give more unless they feel it's absolutely intuitive and reliable. If you pick up the original ipad and a late model, it doesnt feel terribly different even though it is. It's feature rich and easy enough for a two year old to use, and some adults that are tech illiterate are like two year olds in that sense. From a software builder POV, I respect apple very much, even though it can be perceived as fad'ish. "If your going to do something, do it right", for the most part, that's what apple does. Not sure how they missed the fingerprint reader part

android is quickly figuring this out, but having an open platform with too much flexibility, has them falling behind. Classic apple vs windows like scenario.

that's the problem with apple, it's a slow upgrade. but if that's what apple fans/users want then hey, that's a good thing. android isn't all that different from each other however, just the skins from the manufacturers that makes the gui and small stuff different but it isn't alienated that you can't figure it out.

android isn't quickly figuring out to be limited, it's open end does not make them fall behind, but forward instead. apple vs windows? well i'm not sure what you mean by classic apple, but.. well ill leave it be and just stick to the ios/android chat :P
