Sep 09, 2016 00:50 | #23762 DTBaan wrote in post #18121869 that's the problem with apple, it's a slow upgrade. but if that's what apple fans/users want then hey, that's a good thing. android isn't all that different from each other however, just the skins from the manufacturers that makes the gui and small stuff different but it isn't alienated that you can't figure it out. android isn't quickly figuring out to be limited, it's open end does not make them fall behind, but forward instead. apple vs windows? well i'm not sure what you mean by classic apple, but.. well ill leave it be and just stick to the ios/android chat :P I'm sure apple users would like more, but apple knows what it's doing is protecting bottom line (and they did for many generations), while transitioning at a manageable pace. Generally, people dont like learning new stuff, and it's pretty tough building software that's slick and user friendly like ios. Sure, they may be behind the curve at times, but the cohesive nature of updates and subtle changes make it easy for people to transition. With android, the fragmentation issue is a pretty damn big deal, and leaving it too open can lead to a conflict of interest from manufacturers vs android. Software developers arent as willing to make software with such issues, too much trouble, too little reward, so they make ios products.... bad for android, but manufacturers like it..... and manufacturers can be awful reflecting on all of android. Of course it should have the common theme of Sony cameras be the main subject, but I'd think this type of conversation is still welcome. Got a 'behind the scenes' pic? I have a Lastolite Hilite with two Alien Bees B1600s in it. The irony is that I set my lights so that my background is right at 255 in camera and when I bring the images into Lr the software automatically pulls the whites down to 245. Forcing me to go into Ps with these just to bring the whites back up. VanillaImaging.com

I've been using a white muslin with strip boxes and its a PITA to get the background lit evenly and I always end up having to take wrinkles out in post. focalpointsphoto.com

Software developers arent as willing to make software with such issues, too much trouble, too little reward, so they make ios products.... bad for android, but manufacturers like it..... and manufacturers can be awful reflecting on all of android. The OS of android is very robust for sure, but sometimes, they need to K.I.S.S. Original windows phone was super robust and an epic fail.... didnt see big picture and only looked at tech details. Current day vanilla android is extremely good for sure, they just need to do some quality control for manufacturers with minimum standards to have an effective lifespan. They need to close off some manipulation power so android can update ALL systems promptly. iOS is definitely a more consistent and intuitive OS...the "problem" is that Apple has a monopoly on iOS devices, and as such, they can pull-off planned obsolescence schemes with the hardware of their devices since there isn't any real competition to force them to innovate. The fragmentation of android has its downsides for sure, but the competition between all of the device manufacturers in the Android camp leads to more diverse/interesting sets of devices, and better feature-sets overall. i.e. Android devices tend to have much better displays (samsung's AMOLED displays are a thing of beauty), and things like adaptive wireless charging and rapid/fast charging are extremely useful. focalpointsphoto.com
