Very nice Travis.

Anyone use Nisi brand ND filters? They are made in China like Haida.

I need to sort out ND's really.

I have a Hoya ND8 which is fine - I used it a lot on holiday with the Av-1 so I could shoot wide apertures as I had ISO200 film.

I have a B+W ND110 which is okayish by itself but goes horribly wrong with the Hitech grad - even though the Hitech is fine with the Hoya......

I'm still pretty convinced the Haida will give better colours than the B+W though.

Depending on how long I want my shutter.....

Day: 10 or 15-stops

Golden Hour: 3 or 6 stops

Night: Night is an ND unto itself...NDs not needed. Shooting at night in Times Square might be different...lots of light in that environment I imagine. :)

This is a DYI bird bath I'm making for the hummingbirds. I still need to hide the tubing and wire better, do some more decorating and probably raise the bamboo 'bridge' a bit more somehow to get some splash going. The "flagstone" rock is at a slight angle and keeps the water shallow.

The pump I'm using is solar powered and because it gets so hot where I live, I wanted the bath to be on my patio under shade. This pump has the solar panel separated by a long wire that allows me to have it both ways. If this experiment works out, I may try to find another solar powered pump but next time, one with a backup battery.

i'll let you know. would love to. I'm from Davao City though so if we go for a vacation, we fly with Singapore Airlines. They have a connecting flight from Singapore to Davao. If Pres. Duterte cleans up NAIA/Manila, we might be confident again to go through Manila. haha

It all depends on the light levels. To make people disappear you're going to want a minutes-long exposure. So, what ND for that? Impossible to say because artificial light levels on a street vary from place to place (and time to time).

During the day it's easier to say: 15-stop ND will make people disappear.

I think a 3, 6, 10, and 15-stop ND kit will pretty much get the job done in any scenario. You can work your aperture and ISO to fill the gaps.

Thanks for all the tips re: ND filters. I ordered a 10stop for now. I need 3 and 6 stop then. Found a cheap one but interesting review.

Agree with David A on the filters.

No ND filter used here. Just the good old Smooth Reflections app.
