Do you have the GPU enabled in LR? What version are you running? Do you typically use an external monitor at home with the laptop? - Alfredo -

This article really makes me think about the purpose behind the images I take and about really experiencing the places I visit versus merely being there as a passive observer. - Alfredo -

Sep 18, 2016 22:37 | #24385 LR works fine for me in general. It's pretty slow loading Sony raw files (the 42MP variety) though on my Mac, whereas it seems to load and work a bit faster on the PC. Not sure why that is. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

It's pretty slow loading Sony raw files (the 42MP variety) though on my Mac, whereas it seems to load and work a bit faster on the PC. Not sure why that is. Just got back from a quick exploratory trip to Mission San Juan Capistrano. Got there about 30 minutes before closing (they close at 5:00), so it's not yet ideal light (as the days get shorter, it will be). Lots of stuff to take pics of, but feeling completely uninspired. It's as if my photographic "eye" refuses to see the compositions that are there. I just end up taking snap after snap of stuff that leads to nothing. It's one of those times where I need to take a step back, take a break, and start again, with a clean slate and a simple approach. Needless to say, I got nothing for this week's challenge. And again, I continue to fight the camera. Today, I feel like the colors are just so bland. Not sure why. Even after adding saturation, and vibrance, and playing in post...It's just not there. Not sure what happened. Might as well go black and white on most of these. *Sigh* simple answer? because PC just performs better, i know it's something that all the hardcore apple fans don't want to hear, but that is the truth.

I'm not a hardcore Apple fan but this is nonsense. Spec for spec... no, they don't. Generally speaking you can get a higher end PC for much less than an equivelantly powered Mac, but that doesn't mean that "PC just performs better". xpfloyd wrote in post #18132572 I'm not a hardcore Apple fan but this is nonsense. On PC I also have no problem using the same software, i just don't like windows, the windows system itself. but to each their own, we have different taste just like photography. I felt the same way until I got Windows 10... which is funny because most hardcore PC guys hate Windows 10 Fuji X-T3 // Fuji X-Pro2 (Full Spectrum) // Fuji X-H1 // Fuji X-T1
