I go between POTN , FM and SAR and there's not enough new/interesting threads to keep me going a lot of the time. Is there anything else decent out there that people frequent? (Not necessarily another forum, in fact preferably not a forum) And before anyone says less internet more shooting, it is what it is I don't love the various pop photography YouTubers (Granger, Northrup, etc.), but I do enjoy a number of post processing YouTubers. Just do some "Photoshop" searches to find and follow them. David | Flickr

I don't like that various markets get such different prices. I have to admit that one of the two reasons I've been an a7x user since Jan 2014 is the ability to use my Canon-mount lenses on the Sony Exmor sensor. The 5D IV mostly neutralizes that issue. My other reason for shooting the a7 series is the superior manual focusing toolset (EVF and peaking). Anyway, I'm presently asking myself if I want to switch back so I'll have more of a known camera regarding longevity. Is this a really sad reason to stick with the a7R II? >> I so much enjoy the daily interactivity with you and everyone here so much that I don't like the prospect of losing that significant source of enjoyment in my life. I know other folks here are not Sony users, but for me I wouldn't be as active here if I couldn't post images here. Nonetheless, I am considering the 5D IV.David, not a sad reason at all to stick with the a7RII. If you do go back to Canon and the 5D IV, reports I've read indicate it's an improvement over the 5D III but is not quite up there with Sony or Nikon. In the end that difference may not matter much though. I'm talking about dynamic range and high ISO noise performance. I know you don't shoot much video so the fact that the new Canon body is not a first choice for shooting video is a non factor. - Alfredo -

It is a distinct possibility, but a not-too-likelihood. David | Flickr

Nonetheless, I am considering the 5D IV.I'm right there with you David, begrudgingly feeling the urge to pick up a 5D IV and pit it against my A7Rii. Everything I've heard from fellow shooters has been raves. I also held on to the vast majority of my Canon glass, simply because I was afraid this might happen... "I should sell these lenses. But wait, what if I want to go back, then I'm screwed." - BP -

Sep 23, 2016 15:55 | #24899 xpfloyd wrote in post #18137905 I reckon that when there is finally a 35/2 option I will part with the 55. I've always been more a 35 guy than a 50 but since I don't like any of the current 35 options I've been learning to like the 55. When the time comes that there is a better 35 option though I will likely revert back and sell the 55 even though I love it's IQ Same here. I really enjoy shooting the Sigma 35/1.4 even though it's huge and not native. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.
