How do you guys get more correct skin tones, especially indoors? I have been testing a Fuji XT2 the last few days and while there are certain things that my Sony's do quite a bit better, the way this camera renders skintones is just amazing. On my a6300 they often look dull, or too harsh, or too orange but never right on spot. The Fuji seems to nail it a lot more. I have been trying to replicate this in RAW but cannot seem to get the same results. Maybe I miss something. Any help?
gray card, save settings into a WB custom setting?
these days, I dont even go that far, I tend to get the correct white balance with the dropper tool, then adjust the tint manually just a tad, and it gets me there. I find that with darker complexions it can get a little tricky, but lighter complexion is more forgiving. Also, my preset for post processing humans has vibrance -5 and contrast -5, and that plays a role, too much color/contrast in the face can look bad. YMMV, that's how I like to process people. Turning down contrast and vibrance is almost counter intuitive when processing, but works for me because I deal with curves that tend to add that stuff. Just a really old preset I use, and I'm happy with it.
