Just a quick LR vs C1 comparison for you guys. This is not the final image(I have more better shot which kids are looking. I just import and export these ones, no tweaking. C1 sharpness was default to 0 and the LR sharpness is the default 25. Observe the sharpness and color.

What do you think?

First one is LR.

here's the link to lightroom if that helps better. just click next to the other one. filenames are prefix with LR and C1

Did you catch sunset? Most amazing one this year I think. Absolutely amazing from my neck of the woods.

I did. Stay tuned.

Thanks David, tried to make it a minimalistic photo, so I dialed in +3 to get the underside exposed (probably needs +4 based on sunny 16 rule, but worked out). Kind of mad for cutting off my buddy's feet though, too tight of framing -?

What I did now is match the c1 result in Lightroom and change my lightroom default.

To change the defaults in the Develop module:

1. Press the Reset button at the bottom of the right panel. This will adjust all controls to the current default settings.

2. Make any adjustments you wish to make to the defaults.

3. Press and hold the Alt/Option key, and note that the Reset button is now Set Default... Press it.

The C1 conversion just looks richer to me. LR does tend towards a flat look.

I think I'de prefer working with the lightroom one for people. The second one is a bit too much contrast for SOOC, and if I'm working with darker complexion people, I want them lighter rather than darker.

Is there any hint of a new A7R coming? They are in low supply in a number of places. Best Buy won't even let you order one and amazon has delayed delivery.

With Sony you never know but stock is admittedly low because of the earthquake earlier this year.

Also with the a99ii coming soon, inventory of the 42mp sensor is probably being used up.

The only anomaly with the reduced sensors due to the earthquake is the announcement of the 6500 but perhaps they had already made a batch of those
