Soooo is it possible to clean up those darkend tree tops in photoshop? I cant seem to do it in lightroom but they look way off to me

is that due to a grad ND or what? I'de give luminosity masks a shot, but that looks bad/tough to fix

Looks like you applied a gradient filter in LR. Go into the gradient and bring up the shadow slider to avoid darkening the trees.

A better approach would be to use luminosity masks in PS to target the bright areas in the sky.

That didnt work and I forgot to load the raw so I could show better. I will re ask the question later when I can post the raw and the edits...... Stupid trees

can you lightly paint out the grad effect you applied...

Thanks Nadim! Just got lucky with this one. Most of the time they fly away but sometimes are curious like this little guy and stick around.

From your jpeg image (would work better with the raw file): Using the Luminosity Masks in the Lumenzia panel for Photoshop and applying curves/levels adjustment layers some improvement can be made. This might be better:

I was just looking at the RX100 thinking....I might upgrade my P&S...to be able to have an underwater housing too would be awesome...

I looked at the rx100 mk5 today too, then realised it's £1000 and stopped looking

You can snag one of the older models for <$500 these days. Not a bad deal at all...truly pocketable and that sensor is really good.

On the topic of P&S cameras....I had to switch carriers and ended up getting a Moto Z to replace my S6, and didn't want an exploding Note 7. It's basically a modular phone that can mount different mods (magnets and contact pins on the back of the device). I.e. you can mount a speaker, projector, battery pack, and also a P&S camera with a 10x optical zoom. I'm tempted to get the camera mod....just wish that in lieu of a crappy sensor and zoom, they made one with a 1 inch sensor and a prime.

what sucks is what the "camera" mod doesn't have RAW output (unless i'm mistaken)

You are indeed mistaken, a lot of newer Android phones allow for RAW capture

It actually does allow raw output. It's a camera through and through. Just a crappy sensor that isn't much better than the sensor in the phone. Good if you want 10x optical zoom though....I'd rather have a larger sensor and hope they make one eventually
