It may be the fact that I'm using all legacy glass, but does anyone else find the greens from Sony's sensors to be a little difficult to get just right.

....

I've found that I usually have to go into Ps to get the colors right from my A7RII. For studio shots I have a colorchecker profile so it's not too big of a deal, but for landscapes I find the colors to be too muddy. In Ps you can select the color you want to work with directly in the hue/sat adjustment box, then tune that selection using the gradient on the bottom of the box, then proceed to adjust the hue and saturation of just that narrow selection of color. It works far better than the color selection sliders in Lr.

Since Im back in GAS mode..... What do you all think ...... I am looking at dropping the 55 1.8 the 90 macro and the 70-300. roughly 2400 bucks. Then picking up the 70-200 2.8 GM and 2x TC. 3200 for a net of $800 bucks increase.

I don't shoot the 55 enough I still haven't sold the 28/2 and it could cover on the 6500 for anything in that range if i need AF. I have the CV10 and the 21 lox which are solids for landscape. The 90 macro is really covered in the 70-200 2.8 and for true macro I do have the old Viv 90 2.5 which ain't no slouch. This way the basic bag is A6500 / A7rII 10, 21, 70-200 (400). 3 lenses 2 cams very light and covers a wide range. I looked at my macro shots and most are not true macros just close ups which I think the 70-200GM can handle.....albeit at 3.2ft away vs inches.

Sigh I was doing so good with the GAS thing.... almost 4 months!!!!!

I hear ya! What's the F&V Z96?

The Z96 is a video light primarily but it comes with a filter that changes the colour temp from daylight 5600K down to 3200K. Its super bright, dimmable and has 3 power options. Heres the link - https://www.amazon.com …sr=1-2&keywords=F%26V+Z96 (external link)

I got the idea about a year ago online but my recent astros have gave me a new burst of interest and I finally bought it. I cant find the exact website I saw previously but here is another that used the Z96 to light the foreground. The beauty of is if you shoot the stars at 4000K (thats my normal milkyway WB) and add the 3200K filter to the light the stars have the correct WB and the foreground looks natural (and slightly warmer as its a 3200K filter being shot at 4000K)

https://lightcrafter.smugmug.com/About-Nightscapes (external link)

Just watch out though as there are numerous cheap chinese copies that dont have as good colour temp control such as Z Flash etc

EDIT - 1 more - http://intothenightphoto.blogspot.co.uk …ight-panel-for-night.html (external link)

I can't wait to hear your reports of the 70-200 2.8 GM and 2x TC on the a6500 !!!!!!!!!
That must be a brilliant combo for BIF, safari, portrait, etc. The GM is so sharp I bet it will loose nothing with the 2.0TC.
Just think of the effective reach via the crop. The whole package will be weather sealed too.

Forget about GAS reluctance! I've gotten three lenses in the last 2 weeks and will add two more bodies in Dec. It's all good until the collectors knock on the door ;)

My final edit to this look.

I need to do some photoshop surgery to 6 of them. changed mostly faces for the expressions. That's why I use tripod on family group shots. So that you are exactly in the same angle. Easy to swap faces.

I have never been completely happy with the colors from Sony. They just always seem a bit off to me, but I make do.

Here's another from Sunday night's sunset.

Sorry to swamped everyone with the same pics, but I'm trying to decide which of these 3 compositions I like best.

They are all very similar and taken moments apart, with slight differences.

Canon color is very good, but color is my favorite thing about the a7R II.
