Cold this morning, upper 40s, found this guy trying to warm up.....moving so slow I got 8 shots off handheld then stacked in Zerene. Not a complete edit
but close enough for me :)
Used a7Rii + MP65 + natural light
Magnification 2.5:1

a couple of question regarding Wacom Intuos tablet.

1. Intuos or Intuos Pro, why?
2. Size: Is the small size enough for a 27" iMac?

I need to upgrade from Wacom Bamboo Create which only have 512 sensitivity.

1. pro because you are pro, duh! :P better pen, more custom buttons, wireless
2. medium. small is too cramp for me. medium gives me more room, large is overkill. Ive only used the tablet for sketching and not photo related so the extra space is welcomed.

as much as I liked it and the wireless, I ended up returning it and opted for the cintique 13hd which I loved even more.

I mainly limit my use of the pen and tablet to brush work. That includes using the adjustment brush in LR as well as masking and dodging/burning in PS. So, I still prefer the mouse for everything but brushing. OTOH I am brushing, to some degree, on nearly every image, so the pen and tablet is very much a required essential tool for me.

And that speaks to another reason I prefer the small tablet. It's a lot easier to use both mouse and tablet when the tablet is small and can easily be set aside when mousing.

There are some tasks in LR that are absolutely brutal to do with the pen. Using the straighten tool is one. And in PS the polygonal lasso tool is likewise awful with the pen. Ironically I also hate using the pen tool with the pen.

I too prefer using the mouse. though I have a tablet and don't do any retouching, the mouse works better for me when making adjustments and clicking. faster work flow too.

I'm just he opposite, I find the pen makes everything in Ps easier, especially the pen tool. I also keep my mouse and keyboard on a slide out tray under the desktop so they don't interfere with the tablet, and vice versa.

What I mean is how do you take 8 shots handheld without moving? Surely even using the stacker or photoshops layer align any movements in the angle the shot was taken would mean they wouldn't align perfectly? (I've never tried so genuinely don't know)

Oh sorry. There is going to be movement no matter how steady you or your subject are. After aligning the layers and auto blending them, there is still cleanup work required to clone and heal.

Thanks, worth the effort I suppose when you get a shot as detailed as Medicemans above

I took the astronaut photo at the Kennedy Space Centre and the astro shot in the North of Scotland. I was trying to merge them into a composite but gave up as it doesnt look real due to the light sources from the display lights. Ill post it anyway though to show what I was aiming for. I had a similar idea to try it with my shot of the space shuttle Atlantis. Havent tried that yet though

Just pulled the trigger on the Godox TT860III (ETTL speedlight) + trigger and the AD360II (barebulb flash). I have some gigs that are going to need a more capable/powerful lighting equipment....time to stop using the little i40 and my cheap-o yongnuo kit. I know there have been lots of questions about sony lighting gear so I will let you guys know how it works out.

Awesome. I've been eyeing the Xplor 600. It would be quite an investment to get along with the GM 85.

Nice attempt Eddie. I'm no good at composites. I think the hardest part is matching the lighting.
