Very cool. how do you align the 8 shots if handheld?

Thanks Eddie. At first I tried to use burst and slowly but quickly (that sounds stupid eh) move the camera+lens forward
gaining successive layers as I go to put together in post.....but I never could keep the whole bug in the frame doing it that
way; so I just moved slowly and took one pic at a time.
I have another even better that I got 10 shots off.
Remember my advantage was it was cold and he was till warming up.
Hope that helps.

I took the astronaut photo at the Kennedy Space Centre and the astro shot in the North of Scotland. I was trying to merge them into a composite but gave up as it doesnt look real due to the light sources from the display lights. Ill post it anyway though to show what I was aiming for. I had a similar idea to try it with my shot of the space shuttle Atlantis. Havent tried that yet though

Awesome. I've been eyeing the Xplor 600. It would be quite an investment to get along with the GM 85.

I have the flashpoint rovelight 600, and its a total beast. Downside is no built in radio, upside only paid half price. From my understanding the rovelight trigger can stack on top of the transmitter, so it's not a huge inconvenience to use.... will likely get a 360 down the line since the 600 is far from portable, it's massive.

Interestingly enough flashpoint is basically re-branded godox...but for some reason godox will do HSS with Sony...flashpoint will not.

Looks good to me Eddie. A person in space would basically have to be lit from the front, so it works IMO.

Interesting. I knew Flashpoint was rebranded Godox but I thought that model did support HSS with the Godox trigger. Look up Manny Ortiz on YouTube. He has been using it with great results.

Just pulled the trigger on the Godox TT860III (ETTL speedlight) + trigger and the AD360II (barebulb flash). I have some gigs that are going to need a more capable/powerful lighting equipment....time to stop using the little i40 and my cheap-o yongnuo kit. I know there have been lots of questions about sony lighting gear so I will let you guys know how it works out.

Have a pair of 360ii.. love them ..

Stopped using 600rl since i got them..

Nowhere near Eddie's league, I just need to stick with bugs and birds :)
But he did motivate me to have a stab, both shots via the A7Rii, the Milky Way on
the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina and Shepard's suit at Kennedy Space Center, hope
you don't mind Eddie :)

Interesting. The marketing material indicates otherwise, but it makes sense that a godox unit would work since they're basically the same units.

Good to know! I plan to add a second if this all works out. Maybe I'm a little confused, but the 360II's built-in radio transceivers work with the X1-Ts sony transmitter directly right? No need to attach a separate recover to the 360II?

Nice work Vinz. How hard was it to lug a 40inch modifier on an outdoor shoot like that?

I have a 32 inch octabox that I use, but have been eyeing the 43 inch westcott orb.

Yes that's correct ..
TTl.. or manual all works well..
It did take some fiddling with settings in camera for it to work...nothing major
And sometimes it takes a minute for it to recognize the sony signal.. it will show "sony" when it does ..

And while trying to get it to work .. dont stand right next to light or it wont work. .. there needs to be some distance .. not alot justsome.. i found this outthe hard way :rolleyes:

OK thanks for the suggestions. I'm sure I'll be picking your brain as I go along. Learning new lighting systems always involves some pain.
