looks like an amazing place to be.

on topic of gear, Jonathon has a super simple setup, zony 16-35 + sony 70-200f4.....

he has a ton of gear, but when out, that's all he brings and uses. He'll occasionally bring two bodies. His style is small Ona bag? Of course, I'm Batman , 3-4 lenses, I move briskly with my kit and setup. Filter situation still not sorted, so either bring my 67's and/or 82's. Squares with holder are a bit too bulky and require another small bag, so have avoided that.

Thanks for the feedback guys. :)
Still processing...

Definitely a great place to visit. And not too far (4 hours roughly from where I live).

Yeah, I need to do something along the lines as Jonathon. Hence my thinking about zooms now. The prime experiment is coming to an end.
I like primes for their speed, and size. But unless I can make due with carrying 2-3 only (which limits my FL options), it's a non-starter.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Love this. Flared my 135L gas up though. I was planning on selling my metabones today and this is making it difficult :)

PSA

there is a software update available for the Metabones adapter
- Tamron lenses improved
- some bug stability fixes
- plus other stuff

i installed it and checked with the Tamrons - definitely better

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

I prefer the colors in the 2nd image Nadim. I also think this is one of those situations where it is OK to replace the sky and even adjust the overall tones to suit your vision of what the scene should look like. I see this as an artistic image rather than a photojournalistic image. I think I would also crop more aggressively to something like 21:9 like my example below.

Got back last night from an impromptu trip to Death Valley (just a quick overnighter). The weather did not cooperate all that much, so I'm not expecting many great captures.
A couple of things became abundantly clear to me though:

1. I cannot keep on going on these landscape outings with 5+ lenses and all this gear.
2. I might be better off with zooms.

Zooms exist because of your exact situation Nadim. If I were purely a landscape guy, I would probably stick to zooms....A lot of these zooms are very good optically...the only reason I use primes is because my shooting style often calls for fast apertures.

Even when I do use primes, I tend to keep it simple and use a two prime set-up. 35/85, 21/85, 21/35 etc etc depending on what I think I'll be shooting that day. If I happen to need more than two focal lengths, I'll live with the smaller aperture and pack a zoom instead.

Even that involves too much switching sometimes, which is why dual body set-ups are a thing. My RX1RII doubles as a second body since 35mm covers a lot of what I shoot.....plus its tiny and takes up less room in a bag than a lot of lenses do.
