Nov 08, 2016 07:12 | #26693 PSA Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

I also think this is one of those situations where it is OK to replace the sky and even adjust the overall tones to suit your vision of what the scene should look like. I see this as an artistic image rather than a photojournalistic image. I think I would also crop more aggressively to something like 21:9 like my example below. mystik610 Cream of the Crop More info Post edited over 7 years ago by mystik610. | Nov 08, 2016 08:30 | #26695 Puckman wrote in post #18178398 Got back last night from an impromptu trip to Death Valley (just a quick overnighter). The weather did not cooperate all that much, so I'm not expecting many great captures. A couple of things became abundantly clear to me though: 1. I cannot keep on going on these landscape outings with 5+ lenses and all this gear. 2. I might be better off with zooms. Zooms exist because of your exact situation Nadim. If I were purely a landscape guy, I would probably stick to zooms....A lot of these zooms are very good optically...the only reason I use primes is because my shooting style often calls for fast apertures.
