If it fully funds, then no. They set their goals. If say they ask for $250,000 and only get 50k in support they you don't get charged.

But if they ask for 50k and it gets 250k or fully funded, you're charged whether or not you ever get the project or not.

https://www.kickstarter.com/fulfillment (external link)

According to kickstarter themselves 6-8% of projects never get fulfilled. It's up to who's proposing the project whether or not they will do any good faith returns or credit but kickstarter themselves are hands off. And outside of Peak Design and a few other established companies most who use kickstarter are using it for the sake that they don't have the resources to develop the product themselves and don't have the funds to back a failure .

Interesting. Good to know.

First impressions...... Yeah, I very much enjoy using it. I think I picked two good lenses [focal lengths/DOF] to go with it which aren't too much different from my preferred Sony set up. I've ordered a Leica M>Fuji X adaptor [which is due for delivery today according to Amazon??!?!] to try my CV40 out. I still need to get more use out of it though. I also know I shouldn't pixel peep ;) - which I don't really anyway aside to check accurate focus - There IS a difference A7 vs X-E2 ;)

My current thinking is sell Leica Tele-Elmarit 90/2.8, FE35/2.8 & possibly my Canon FD kit - That should give me over half of the cost of the Fuji kit.

Keep A7, CV40, Helios 44-2, possibly FD28 & all my Yashica lenses & FX-3 35mm kit.......

Then see how much I use the Sony/manual glass & take things from there. If I don't & I sell the lot them I'll probably go X-Pro2 ;)

jeeezus kickstarter sounds like its more for investors than the average consumer. items must be a great deal to take a chance with no returns or getting a defective item,I've never heard of this,i thought maybe it was a bidding site,i can see how those sites work.

how's my new watermarked/logo? I decided I wanted to be known by my name rather than VMPortrait. What do you think?

Might want to check out the Sony SEL 10-18 lens. It's meant for APS-C but works for FF. Trey Ratcliff uses it. It's useable at 12mm up to 18mm. A bit soft wide in the corners wide open but sharpens up at f5.6.

Any one else looking at the Sigma 12-24? It doesn't take filters but given the typical price of an UWA prime, it looks worthwhile. Early test images and reviews look good.

If I hadn't pre-ordered the Laowa 12mm I might have gone with the Sigma 12-24mm Art. I love my Sigma 20mm Art. They haven't missed yet on the Art series that I know of.

Looks great. I keep thinking I need to incorporate a watermark in my images as well. On my to do list.
